GvG Season Rewards & Conquerors' Hall F.A.Q.

  • GvG Season Rewards & Conquerors' Hall F.A.Q.

Hey folks, Here is an F.A.Q for the new GvG Season rewards and Conquerors' Hall, we hope this helps to explain how this loyalty reward system works and reasoning's behind their design, but if you have any additional questions please drop them below and we can build up the list.

    Quicklist:
    1. How do I obtain rewards in the GvG Seasons?
    2. Why do I have to be in a guild for 75% of the season to obtain these rewards?
    3. Why did you decide to base the system on guild loyalty?
    4. Why did you not use fame as a measurement of contribution during the GvG season?
    5. How will I know how much x% loyalty progress I have in a guild?
    6. What happens to my loyalty progress if I switch guild in the middle of the season?
    7. What happens if I am kicked from the guild on the last day of the season?
    8. How will I know what rewards I am eligible for?
    9. What rewards can I obtain for being placed in the top 3?
    10. What rewards can I obtain for Crystal Rank?
    11. What rewards can I obtain for Gold Rank?
    12. What rewards can I obtain for Silver Rank?
    13. What rewards can I obtain for Bronze Rank?
    14. What rewards can I obtain for Iron Rank?
    15. How and when can I access the Conquerors' Hall?
    16. If I am in the top 3 guild, how will I forward the character I want to be immortalized in the Conquerors' Hall?
    17. Will the loyalty progress be tracked while offline?

    1. How do I obtain rewards in the GvG Seasons?

    There are a couple of requirements that you need to meet to achieve these rewards, those include;
    • Be in a guild for 75% of the season that has achieved either Crystal, Gold, Silver or Bronze or Iron rank during the GvG season.
    • Have premium status active.

    2. Why do I have to be in a guild for 75% of the season to obtain these rewards?

Well, given some thought, we could have gone with the most obvious and simple solution - handing out rewards to the players who were in the winning guild in the last 24 hours of the season. However there are many downsides to this option, compared to what we ultimately came up with. For example, this option is pretty exploitable in terms of inviting everyone and their dog to the guild, or even selling those spots to everyone and their dog and grandma, which would translate to the inability to give out better rewards. (sorry grandma.)

Therefore, we have decided to go with a system that will track your loyalty to the guild you're in, and based on that, along with that guild's placement at the end of the season, we will determine if and what rewards you will receive.

    3. Why did you decide to base the system on guild loyalty?

Well there are positive side effects of this that play into other feedback we have collected from you guys, regarding the implications of guild hopping and mercing. What's important to note here, is that we do not want to slap on restrictions and take away sandbox elements whenever there is a common problem. In general we do not want to take away the freedom of your different play-styles - instead, with this system we want to incentivize loyalty to your banner and discourage disloyalty where possible. In the end you could still forfeit those rewards, because it's up to you - how much you value your own loyalty.

Other benefits of such a system: we will have more balancing flexibility in the long term, for example even if for some reason we decide to go with the low effort option of giving out rewards for the last 24 hours, we simply tweak this % down to around 10% + the timeframe. Or similarly, if we decide that we think players need to have 100% participation/loyalty, again we just tweak the number. Once we have the system in place, we will be able to be more reactive in the future, which in itself has a lot of benefits of responding faster to the community. something here about it how it being above 75% means cant double reward

    4. Why did you not use fame as a measurement of contribution during the GvG season?

It makes total sense to consider fame as option for a more 'participation' style reward. We did weigh up if we could work with fame as an indicator, but it can end up a bit over complicated/engineered, for example if we tracked fame separately (crafting, gathering, killing etc) in many cases crafters are getting more fame than gatherers, but their contribution should still be acknowledged as valuable right? If we were to base it mostly on fame for killing players, perhaps not everyone had the opportunity to kill X amount of players, and what kind of % would be feasible for all guilds and their individual players.
Finally if we combined the fame together, we may have a situation where players are just spamming instances, which in general can be helpful for the guild wealth wise, but it's a bit too detached from the GvG seasons. Therefore we will go for something simpler to track and communicate, with the knowledge that Guild Leaders will determine and kick those members that are not contributing as they should. (which should also be a form of participation tracking) Sidenote; we will be introducing a separate system that will be geared towards rewarding solo players for their pve activities in albion, we did not forget about you - more information on that will be announced next week. ;)

    5. How will I know how much x% loyalty progress I have in a guild?

That one is simple, this will be indicated within the Season Ranking interface on the new 'Season Rewards' tab, so that you are well aware of how much of a loyal guildie you are. If you switch guilds, the tracker will start displaying time in the new guild.

    6. What happens to my loyalty progress if I switch guild in the middle of the season?

As mentioned in question 3, you will not lose any progress made in your previous guild, but of course you loyalty progress will pause for the previous guild and start being tracked for the new guild.

    7. What happens if I am kicked from the guild on the last day of the season?

Your loyalty progress will not be lost, as long as you were in that guild for 75% of the season you should still be eligible for the rewards.

    8. How will I know what rewards I am eligible for?

We plan to introduce an interface that will indicate this as soon as possible, until then will prepare an info-graphic for you to keep and share. Once we have the infographic we will notify you and update this FAQ.

    9. What rewards can I obtain for being placed in the top 3?
    • Crystal War Mount
    • Permanent Crystal Avatar Ring that displays #1, #2 or #3 placement
    • Immortalized Statue and Guild Banner displayed in the Conquerors' Hall
    • A season exclusive avatar, that will be taken from a pool of avatars which will be expanded each season

    10. What rewards can I obtain for Crystal Rank?
    • Crystal War Mount
    • Permanent Crystal Avatar Ring
    • A season exclusive avatar, that will be taken from a pool of avatars which will be expanded each season

    11. What rewards can I obtain for Gold Rank?
    • Gold War Mount
    • Permanent Gold Avatar Ring
    • A season exclusive avatar, that will be taken from a pool of avatars which will be expanded each season

    12. What rewards can I obtain for Silver Rank?
    • Silver War Mount
    • Permanent Silver Avatar Ring
    • A season exclusive avatar, that will be taken from a pool of avatars which will be expanded each season

    13. What rewards can I obtain for Bronze Rank?
    • Bronze War Mount EDITED: Bronze rank will no longer receive the GvG season mount.
    • Permanent Bronze Avatar Ring
    • A season exclusive avatar, that will be taken from a pool of avatars which will be expanded each season

    14. What rewards can I obtain for Iron Rank?
    • Permanent Iron Avatar Ring

    15. How and when can I access the Conquerors' Hall?

The common folk and peasants of Caerleon will be drafted in to construct the Conquerors' Hall during Season 4. Once they have finished their measurements and planning you will notice a construction site in Caerleon appear sometime into Season 4, where the Monument and Entrance will be. Once we have clear victors of Season 4, they will be immortalized into statues that will sit at this entrance of the Conquerors Hall until Season 5 concludes, at which time they will be carefully placed inside the hall for the remainder of Albion history to make room for their successors.

    16. If I am in the top 3 guild, how will I forward the character I want to be immortalized in the Conquerors' Hall?

Each guild that is placed in the top 3 will be able to immortalize one character into a statue, the top #1 guild will have the opportunity to choose a posture of their immortalized character. We will be directly in touch with the Guild Leaders to concept these characters ready for the opening of the hall.

17.Will the loyalty progress be tracked while offline?

Your progress will be tracked while you're within a guild, online or offline.

  • So just to clarify here. Everyone who reaches the 75% contribution threshold and is in the guild will receive all the rewards?

If so there's sure gonna be a lot of war rhinos. Going from previous rankings there will be something like nearly 2000 of just the crystal ones and god knows how many of them total.

Not that I'm against everyone being rewarded equally, I think that's good, but it's going to mean that the war rhinos are one of the most plentiful mounts in the game and their power should reflect that.

hell yeah fuck them merc teams
You can still merc 25% of your "time"... unfortunately

There will be no way to "reproduce" the war rhino...no way to farm it... so it will be unique (even though it would appear that they are "plentiful") - also its the guild not the alliance that gets them.

I think they should be the most powerful battle mount to date, because all other battle mounts kind of suck... (maybe Im biased because I expected that battle mounts would allow me to 10v1 - like a very similar game to AO where 90% of AO's ideas were borrowed from)

I'm not sure what you mean here? If everyone in a guild that hits crystal gets one there will be literally thousands of them. Which is why I was asking for clarification if just one was given to the guild leader, or if everyone in the guild gets one if they hit the rank and contribution requirement.

They don't specify here or in the post if it's an individual reward or just given to the GM. From the sound of it though it appears that everyone gets one, which I don't have anything against but if that's the case they can't make it strong because there will be thousands of them.

Crystal rankings for Season 3 (just ended):
    TC: 283
    MG: 189
    The Fleet: 208
    Crimson Imperium: 211
    Hammer and Sickle: 227
    Blue Army: 269
    Say my Metatrone: 141
    Red Army v2: 91

    Total: 1619

    Hardly "thousands".

Also this number is very interesting. It will somewhat feel "plentiful" (at first) and people will take them into PVP or ZvZ... and then they will die and some will trash... so over time the amount will go down.

Basic economics says: if supply goes down over time - price will go up. Up to a point when noone will use them, or use very very sparingly. Just look at price of gold over time...

Yes... there will be thousands. They are given out to all ranks above Iron. So like I said there will be thousands of total war rhinos if they are given to each player in the guild as this post suggests.

Also if you look at past season as you pointed out, there were 8 guilds that hit crystal, which would mean once they are filled up to 300 with alts to get extra rewards on them there would be 2400. So literally thousands of just the highest tier one. And this is assuming guilds that hit crystal early don't give terris to alternate guilds/allies to have even more people hit crystal since there is now a much bigger incentive to boost allies up to crystal.

Supply will go down some over time sure. But this would be a ridiculous oversupply if the battle mount is anything but cosmetic.

this would not work - as you have to be in the guild for 75% of the season time to get the reward. So the "alt guilds" would at max get 25% of the time in, and get nothing.

Also I was talking about crystal only in my post.

Yes there will be a couple thousand of total war rhinos (lower tiers, like gold, silver, etc) - but we all know lower tier = crappy
  • I don't think you understand... They would boost ally guilds up to crystal by giving them territories for a week or two towards the end.

Even if that didn't happen (which it will) and there's only 8 crystal guilds again, there would be 2400ish Crystal war rhinos since people would fill the guilds out to 300 with alts at start of season. There will be a couple thousand of JUST the highest tier ones.

A couple thousand across all? Assuming previous numbers there were 121 guilds applicable for it which even if there's only 50 characters average per guild would equate to way way more than a "couple thousand." Everyone is going to be getting at least 3 of them since they will throw their alts into guilds at the start of the season and it is trivially easy to hit bronze. Even silver doesn't take a whole lot as there were over 50 guilds silver or higher.

well I hope SBI keeps an eye on this... and I hope the Rhino is not shitty...
  • I think he means that you can get via the reward at the end so that all the people in the top guilds don't throw their alts into the guild and get 3 of them each.

Since it's just based on time spent in the guild you could throw your 2 alts in the guild (or 5 if you have a second account) at start of season and get a bunch to sell.

Would be nice to get some kind of clarification on how they plan to give out the rhinos though. It just doesn't seem realistic to me to give out 2-3k T8 battlemounts and another 5k-10k of the lower tiers.
  • Dear @Evoque

    • Be in a guild for 75% of the season that has achieved either Crystal, Gold, Silver or Bronze or Iron rank during the GvG season.
    • Have premium status active.

Is it enough just be in guild offline or player should be online each day or need to gain at least 1 fame during the day as guild member?

P.s. Could i ask you please to check Conversation, i sent information regarding Round Table.

    Thank you

I think it's meant to encourage guild leaders to actually kick inactives and people who dont participate and have guilds with real numbers of active players not sleeping guilds. If you look at some guilds that have over 100 players 75% of them have 0 fame of any kind and I doubt that 75% of albion players are marketers...But then again most of those guilds dont really have ranks so... it wont rlly solve anything.
