      one thing i really miss from beta is the fact you could pvp while gathering,

      but since the release of gathering gear, its become less viable, due to the yeild bonuses

      it would be nice if gathering gear was made purely for poeple who only want to gather.

      and there were other armours with gathering bonuses but pvp orientated, and not just about escaping gankers.


      like a special enchantment that gave your pvp set for gathering bonuses? with requirement to wear being both in the armours and weapons tree, and the gathering tree.

      for example for t6 armour youd need both t6 in the armour line, and the gathering line.



      additionally, i think it would be nice to see gear with multiple requirements from different parts of the tree in general.

      hybrid weapons and armors etc.

      would add a whole new dimension to levelling your character.

      before gathering gear was released people regularly used to go out and roam with their tools too, and fight over mats with other gatherers.

      now its really inefficient to do that.

      if you mix and match, you will lose too much yeild...

      right. So you just answered your own question.

      The way to do what you are asking is to run in combat gear (and give something else up - like yield).

      You can't have it both ways. You can either PVP, or use gathering gear, or you can mix and match. Those are your 3 options that are balanced via "trade offs" - add in anything else, and you won't have trade offs anymore, you will just have the best of both worlds. And you cannot have the best of both worlds, just like you cant have cloth armor that is as strong as plate armor (there is leather for "inbetween"). Or you cant have a sword, that also gives you healing like a nature staff...

      There is one, or the other, or there is mix and match (jack of all trades - master of none).

      But you can't have it all.

    • i dont agree with that logic, gathering gear was added because gathers who didnt want pvp kept complaining about being ganked.

      it was introduced mainly as an escape mechanic, the problem is they gave it yeild. it was a hugely unnecessary change .

      before gathering gear, there were so many more pvp interactions between solo players.

      gathering gear should be only for people who dont want to fight, and priorotise escaping.


      that is your trade off. escaping vs fighting,

      If you want some extra yield - pop a t7 pork pie, you'll get +15% yield and +30% carry weight to your PVP gear... make that a t7.3 pork pie if you really wanna be fancy...

      Or just PVP in gathering gear - and be smart about your targets and bait accordingly...
