Can you and i change... Albion?

  • Can you and i change... Albion?

Guys.. Im here to talk with you all. To show some of my ideas, and listen some of yours too. First of all, this game is great! Its the best MMO in my opnion. The reason? You all know the reason. I cant explain. But, if some things change, that game will reach a new level. In my opinion, of course. And i want to know what you think about that. I will need yours imagination here, ok? Ok! lets go!

1)Life: I feel that Albion dont have diversity and "life". I dont feel that Albion its "alive". I mean.. All in this game is so.. repetitive and.. similar.. Cities, maps, dungeons etc. What i would do? Well.. Make maps and cities unique! How? First, remove some or many 'workers' plots. "70%" of them are useless.. Exist only to "fill" the cities with something.. So.. What you can put in that useless places? Basically, two words: Diversity and NPC's. An garden with NPC's that can offer you some quest, an tavern with NPC's that can offer you some drinks, and give you some buffs to do specific things, and other things that i will talk soon ->

2)Island? : We really need that? This is so "useless", and i will tell you why. No one use islands to build something.. Only your house(that are useless too, and i will explain) and your farm. You can add an "mercenary post" in the cities(another place to add more life to the game), an place that all labourers live. You can hire them with your book only. Your house in your island its not yours, belongs to yours labourers(haha). That chest.. Same thing.. You can put your things in the city. Now.. Farm.. I doubt have someone that likes to play on that farms.. Both of you do that for "obligation". Everyone must have a island to produce something. This part of the game are so boring. But, we need mounts, potions and food right? So, we can transfer that to the cities(stables, gardens etc)! And, without much "work". No one want to pass 15minutes making boring things on island. No more island guild too, please.. Stop it. That thing doesnt adds nothing to the game.

3)House! : Now, we must create a real place to live in Albion. And with sense. Here we will store our stuffs.. How many chests can you count in this game? And if... We delete all these chests, and create a single one? Your chest in your house. All that you got, you will put here. Theres no sense to have so many chests. Only one. Okay. What more? Beds, of course. You will sleep to recovery your Stamina. You can sleep only one time per day. And, how much longer you sleep, you will recovery more stamina(6 hours=maximum. No one play Albion 24h). Okay, but what is that? To gather, we will spend stamina.. when stamina reach 0, you will loose efficiency. This will encourage you to do others things. Great, but where you will put that "houses"? Creating some "smallmaps" on the cities.. You will cross the "portals", then you will reach one of the house areas.. Similar to neighborhoods in real life. Some streets can take you to differents houses areas. And you, will live in one of them. A problem: But, if someone stop playing Albion.. His house will occupy area, and when news players cames, houses areas will grow up, more and more.. How we can fix it? Okay.. When someone do not log in in a while.. His house will be removed, then other player can live here.. Hmm.. And if this players came to play again? I say, he can go to the tow hall, in the city, to recovery his place, but to another location(or the same, if noone is living in there). Everyone will have your spot.

4)Quests: I dont need to say nothing about that.. Take Tibia or Runescape as exemple, please.

5)Maps: Add some random things.. Like buildings.. Places to complete quests.. Unique things.

After that, you really will live in some city.. To do things in there. Arent you tired to see everyone on the market or chest? Dont you want to see people walking on the streets, doing things, like quests, taking buffs, or going to home to storage your stuffs? Lets bring more life to Albion!

PVP, PVE, Market, gathering, are perfect! The main theme of Albion are perfect! This things will only add more content to this great game!

This is what are in my mind.. Sorry if you read some gramatical mistakes.. Im not from USA.. I used some things that i know, and the translate, of course.

What you all think about my ideas?

  • I know people that would not play the game if not for houses. Most people would like persistent housing in the world instead of instanced housing but it's not that easy to implement. There are many logistical problems and instanced housing is much easier on the dev. team. Every game ever made has these issues. You have to allocate resources the best way you can. Of course many of us would do things differently but I myself don't think player housing is the big issue. I like your point about bringing more life into the game and it would help out. Overall though, I think having more population will make the game more alive. Whatever keeps this up will be the main obstacle. NPC's can only do so much and I don't feel like they really add any "life".
What we obtain too cheaply; we esteem too lightly. It is in dearness only that gives everything it's value.
  • I have been playing since late beta, and the game has only been released for about a year, but I have seen it go through some fairly significant changes with a lot of patches. That said, it is not unthinkable that they might make some major changes to fix some of these things.

@ViniColen you are proposing changes that will drastically change the crafting system in AO.
Are you sure you understand this system even on a basic level?
No, it will not ruin craft system.. Let me tell u why: You can transfer the farm to your house. Have you noticed the carrots size? herbs size? These can fit into houses, if you make carrots and other things, be an real carrot.. not an giant one. You dont need to make 45 farm plots to produce X potions. You can make 9 plots, to make the same "X" potions. Noone like to spent time, farming 45 plots(island lv 6).. Everyday. You can choose what you will farm into your house.

Well.. I dont think this would be a problem.. Make some maps, full of houses. If people, stop to play eventualy, devs can fix that rellocating houses locations, to prevent an "ghost map", where in an map of, i dont know, 100 houses, only 10 has players playing. You can agroup houses everytime, in maintenence, for exemple.

wouldn't it be cool to have the possibility to build on City-plots Casinos, Taverns or some other social things where u can spend useless money in?
Not useless.. haha. imagine that, in taverns, you can drink an T8 beer, that will give you 5% fame bonus into weapons.. Or, you can drink an T6 wine, that will give you 10% of collect bonus.
  • I think Albion must have lore.. Shouldnt be only an game where you take resource, make weapons, and go to PvP. Of course, this is the "main theme" of albion, and i love it. But.. Should be more.. You dont want to make quests, or break your head and not sleep, thinking about that awesome puzzle that noone discovery yet? To join the comunity and try to resolve that. (Tibia Serpentine tower fellings haha). Or, have a real house in the game, an location where you can live in Albion. To storage your stufs. To make your potions, food and mounts. Albion has your own identity, however, could bring great things of some games, like Tibia and Runescape.

I think Albion its OK. But, could be Super OK. Where is the RPG?

  • The game needs some sort of Job/Task system, that acts like quests and could be done repeatedly IMO. They should create that kind of system, before focusing on real quests with unique rewards etc. Polishing the open world should also be on top priority. More graphics options and options in overall would be welcome. I kind of like the graphics style but there could be more detail and accuracy in them.
  • If quests/job/task like
    1. kill 10 guys of enemy faction - you will get few hearts
    2. kill people(total worth of 100k PvP game) in BZ and after you get random reward - direwolf puppet , silver etc
    3. Be in Pk mode on royal continent and kill people (total worth of 100k) and you will get random reward - tome - black market reward or random piece of relic

  • I think questing and lore would kill what this game is truly about. If I wanted to do pointless quest I would play RuneScape or tbh any MMO those options are out there for players. This is a sandbox MMO anything goes players create their own lore and quest that's what's good about this game everyones is having their own experiences instead of following a direct path. That's how I feel still kinda fresh on this game love it

  • the game is dying for sure... by looking in steam charts you can all see that.
Don't get me wrong I love this game,I think it's a great one. But if you wish for new players to come in , you need to add more content for solo players... Cuz if your not in a guild (witch I personally don't like) then you are screwed big time. You cant get out to the world without 4 guys ganging you in every direction. I wish albion online admins would add MULTI (like in runescape ) where in some areas you can gang in groups and in some places you only can one on one. Cuz it doesnt matter if your T8 if 3 t4 guys gang you , you are screwed .

the whole point of soloing anything in most games is that you want and are looking for a challenge. Coming out with a zone dedicated to 1v1 will just divide the player base and leave some zones dead not a good move imo .

  • The point is: Albion should be a game that you can gather, craft and go kill someone? Or deserve more content? Lore, houses, social areas with real gains(taverns in my exemple) and more. They said that all content coming to the game have the main objective to increase PvP on game. But, should be only that? I dont know how these things would be implemented. Im just offering ideas, but the job are with devs.
