have to download the game every day

I pointed this out last Alpha and still no fix. No matter what suggestion has been provided, doesnt matter when there is an update I am forced because update fails to install so I have to uninstall and download full client.

Please work on this, I will volunteer my system to test on.

Another day another fresh install. The error that I get is: xdelta tool process timed out.

Just want to let you know I have (almost?) the same problem, at every patch it will fail with the following exact message: Failed to apply patch: "error waiting for xdelta tool Proces failed to start: No such file or directory. Sorry! Attempting full reinstall now.". After the full download and reinstall I can play again.

its strange because i had the same error, did u guys really uninstall it via windows -> programms until the whole directoy is gone and reinstall it from albiononline.com/en/download ?
thats what i did, worked for me.

But the problem here is that every patch you need to download and reinstall the game...

@AbunA ok i got the impression you mean just letting the launcher download the game again after the "error waiting for xdelta tool" comes up. as i said, i had the error and it went away after a complete uninstall and new download of the webinstaller. but if u tried that already then just ignore what i said

But have you tried doing what he said? As in completely remove the entire install of Albion through windows and then installing a complete fresh one?

Not letting the launcher do it for you

I've done a complete remove and install every day. Still no luck. I use windows to uninstall it. Then redownload the installer and install. Windows xp

Good input might be, that today i had to re-install too.

...funny thing. On every patch i had to do it BUT not two days ago, that patch on that day worked with no new installation needed.

The day that the drop rate of humanoid npc was raised by 200% i needed no re-install. What was different with that patch?

@Empa i don't use the reinstall/repair thing. I go to the albion folder, i double click the unistall button, i wait until everything is deleted, i delete the previews setup, i go to the website and download a fresh copy.

Ah, just posted a thread about this:

Failed to apply patch: target file /var/folders/3G/3GPsJeaKGOicC+EL9uYqqk+++TI/-Tmp-/Albion Online Launcher-ViK0Yh/out0/Albion-Online.app/Contents/version.txt was not created..

Sorry! Attempting full reinstall now.

Empa, I would imagine that this should be dealt with as a bug (which it is, cross platform) rather than simply having folks do work arounds. Alpha being alpha and all.

I think the problem with the android app is that the client wont be on the play store until the game is released which means no auto updates until release. Android users are just going to have to get over uninstalling and reinstalling until the game is released.
As for windows the problem is likely that the client was originally written for windows 7 and not windows 8. Why you would even want windows 8 is beyond me, but that's your poison to swallow.

I think you misunderstood me there buddy.

Our thinking was that people are still using old clients from previous tests, fact is it works for most people so we need to find what the reasons are for it not working for these guys. That's why we recommend a fresh install between every test to eliminate reasons that could be causing these problems.

@Hectar this is about the Windows client failing to patch buddy

What version of windows are you guys running on? xp? 7? 8? 10alpha?

Yesterdays patch did work, no re-install needed.

Todays patch failed again. Re-install needed.

So yesterday (monday) needed no re-install and the monday before did not either. All other patches needed reinstall.

Anyone can confirm that?
