Roleplayers, Join us!

    • Roleplayers, Join us!

      Hear ye, hear ye!

Fort Sterling has emerged amongst the lands of Albion as the largest and most prosperous, save for Caerleon itself.

Let all the good people of the land come together in this community. We shall create a city where virtue shines and freedom reigns. Where crafters may safely sell their wares, where ale may be consumed, and where the King's Church shall grant redemption from a life of crime.

There is friendship and silver to be made!

Go forth and tell the people that we have joined together in the struggle against the criminals, cut-throats, and murders of the land; that the walls of Fort Sterling shall stand strong. This shall be our home!

An open invitation to roleplayers, roleplaying guilds, and those interested in learning to roleplay; to make Fort Sterling their home; so that we may easier find each other and enjoy the company of like-minded folk.

    • Did you choose Fort Sterling because of this location?

(Are there other locations like this on other maps?)

For many people (most?) Full loot PvP is the thing they remember fondly about early mmo's for me it has always been the social aspect on Dark Ages, like masses and player written lore and stuff... Not sure I would have the time to take part but would love to see some of that on AO...

      Stuff like this:

Every one knew everyone and there was a lot of social aspect to the game (not just the forums) .... Oh the times :D

      No; but it certainly helps!

In the Ironguard there is the 'arcane division' which is a representative of The King's Church. We may perform services at the Church in Fort Sterling from time to time!

I absolutely agree on the social aspect; even darkly devious PvP can have fantastic storylines interwoven!

    • How to Walk schrieb:

Wondered how some roleplayers are walking in town when there is no /walk command? Easy!

To walk, overload your character to 140% (when unmounted) by filling up on logs, bars, or something equally heavy.

      Event Ideas for One Player
What if you log on and you're the only person wanting to roleplay at that time? You could just log back off, but nothing generates roleplay activity like roleplay activity. There are things you can do to pass the time and help encourage roleplay. Remember, you have 3 character slots; even if you don't want to roleplay on your main character, you could do so on an alt!

      Dropping off Leaflets:
Whether it is dropping off leaflets to gain new recruits for your guild, or acting as a news announcer (town crier) for stories posted to the Albion Online forums. Using /say and /emote creatively can help you to inform others of day to day life.

      Hunting:
Although more fun with other people, hunts can be carried out alone. Take it as a chance to get imaginative with a short story for the Albion Online forums.

      Samaritan:
You could put yourself in to walk mode and wander the streets of Fort Sterling; preaching the good news of salvation through Merlin. Healing those wounded from dueling.

Event Ideas for Two or More
This is a list of things you can do with two or more people. There is no need to sit and wait for things to happen. If you want roleplay, make it happen!

      Hunting:
A hunt could be a trip to a dungeon or other hostile location, with the aim to slaughter the inhabitants for silver. These can then be documented with a report and pictures, and posted to the Albion Online forums.

      Training:
Training can include equipment checks, fitness and combat training, and practising elements of a particular craft or lifestyle. A training event could be focused on things like hand-to-hand combat, training with a specific weapon, or an in-the-field lecture on how to survive in the wilderness.

      Patrolling:
Patrols can be lead anywhere in the open world. You can use the walk method for added effect. The aim of a patrol is to make sure all is safe around Fort Sterling. You should mingle with the citizens of Fort Sterling to make sure nothing suspicious is going on.

      Exploring:
Exploring can be done anywhere in Albion. It is not necessarily a trip to a hostile location, but rather a journey to enhance the participant's knowledge of the terrain and the inhabitants of far-off regions.

      Parades:
Similar to training events, these are more focused on showing the talent and ability of soldiers. Holding displays of battle and parade orders around well travelled places such as Fort Sterling and Mountain Cross is useful for encouraging people to join roleplay guilds.

      Relaxing:
An important part of life! Find suitable locations to netflix and chill, whilst you talk in character to others. Another good location is the church area in Fort Sterling. Who will be first to run weekly sermons?

      Sports:
They keep you fit and make time pass with the blink of an eye. Whether it is a race around a particular area, a boxing match, or something more grand.

      Market:
Gather all of the traders around in Fort Sterling for one evening. Instead of using the Auction House; have people announce their wares for sale in /say, and allow shoppers to browse a live market.

To switch between walk speeds, you could switch your bag to lower tiers? Or the Courier passive on/off. Which ever is easier.

I had a quick test. For me carrying a T5 Repair Station around seems to do the trick. Switching to T2 bag brings me to walking speed.

Keep up the good work!

    • Hear ye! Hear ye!

The first public tavern of Albion is now open. The King's Arms in Caerleon welcomes ye!

Visit the King's Arms Tavern in Caerleon; for directions, talk to the travel agent that sells island excursions.

      Out of Character:

The King's Arms is a "guild island" located in Caerleon.
Anyone can request to be granted access to the island.

The guild hall has been themed to be like a tavern, The King's Arms, and it is hoped that it will give a location in Caerleon that allows roleplayers to meet and share tales without being phased/instanced at busy periods.

Of course players should roleplay in the open world, in Fort Sterling, Lymhurst, etc., but there are times when these players and guilds travel to/from Caerleon. There are also players in non-RP guilds who may wish to roleplay from time to time, and this gives you a central location to meet with other people.

The King's Arms is there to serve roleplayers regardless of guild or alliance afilliation.

Anyone can request access to the island for themselves or guild - post a message here, or send me an in-game mail.

There are two storage chests within the tavern that anyone can add/remove items from. This is to help facilitate your roleplay and inter-guild transfer needs. Any storage is done at your own risk.

There are also several "themed" areas on the island to help with roleplay; including a "Morgana" area, a militia/training area, a wedding/holy area, and other explorable bits.

All members of the following guilds should already have access:
      • The Ironguard
      • Equestrian Imperial Guard
      • Rangers of Celidon

    • Autumnal Update:

      Albion RolePlay Alliance (ARPA):
Rangers of Celidon, Equestrian Imperial Guard, and the Ironguard, have formed an alliance especially for roleplay guilds.

The alliance, the Albion RolePlay Alliance (ARPA), can be read about here. Contact @Blodvaerd if you wish to have your roleplay guild join. All ARPA guilds have access to the King's Arm's Tavern.

ARPA have a discord server, so even if you are not in an ARPA guild, you can still communicate with other roleplayers and find out about / create your own events.

      In general..
There seems to have been an increase in the past few weeks amongst our numbers. Roleplayers can be seen throughout Fort Sterling and Lymhurst, as well as the King's Arm's Tavern in Caerleon. Any guild or person can request access to the tavern.

You do not need to be in a roleplay guild (although it helps) to roleplay. Just use /say and /emote as your character would as if it was in a story.
