Combating "Gold Sellers"

  • That is meaningless. Any experienced hacker can initiate their own DDoS attack. You know those websites the gold sellers spam you with? They can easily infect your computer with malware without you knowing and now your computer is a zombie. How many people do you think are dumb enough to visit those websites? 100? 10,000? They now have 10,000 zombies they can use in their DDoS attack against the game and people don't even know it.

10000 Zombies is not a lot. They asked for ransom, so they want gain. This isn't some kid ddosing for shit and giggles, it's an operation ran to ransom money, and it only started happening after the massive bans. So anyone with a brain can see where i'm going.

How would they run out of stolen credit cards to abuse?
You think the botnet owners get paid in credit cards? Lol.
You think botnet owners wouldn't take a pile of stolen credit card information as payment?
Yes, because adults know that there are things called charged backs from stolen credit cards. That means the person who the card was processed to, loses money.
Also, I read that question wrong. Botnet owners most likely have their own set of stolen credit cards.. i mean how else did they get the botnet in the first place...

I agree here... these are not just some kids throwing a tantrum... at least that would be my guess as I really have no way of proving that statement.

Not talking about from the angle of actually putting charges on the cards but rather the actual trade value off the information itself. The botnet doesn't actually have to take any money off the cards.

    Think of it like this.
There is water flowing through a filter from a dirty water bottle.
Every time water flows through it filters the dirt, and eventually, with lots of filter changes, the water is clean.

DDosing is similar, SBI can put up filters and block IP's that are suspicious, rinse and repeat. Botnet's are infinite.
So someone with 10000 zombies, can't do much long run, you need someone with millions of botnets to do effective downtime damage.
And the rest I believe you can understand.

Do you know what is a VPN?

It seen you don't. Vpn for ddos problem, so stupid, it protect and stabilize your connection and not the server, AND it don't magically reduce the NA/EU/AS delay ? Please stop use terms you don't know.

Albion Oline -> Gold seller problem ? OK we shutdown the server, then no problem.
  • Have SBI actually provided any proof of this apparent 'Blackmail threat'?

And before the White Knights start braying about why they can''t then consider the fact is was a stupid legal move for them to even publicly admit to it so now they have made the claim they need to provide the evidence

I'm not one for believing Fairy Tales unless the person telling it is prepared to provide the Fairy as evidence :)

Yea, I miss read your question, and I edited.

    Here's the edit

Also, I read that question wrong. Botnet owners most likely have their own set of stolen credit cards.. i mean how else did they get the botnet in the first place...

So, most likely botnet owners already stole a bunch of info off the botnet pc for himself. I wouldn't think he wants more cards/info.
If they did, why are they using the botnets for DDosing to get ransom, when they could get so much more from the credit cards? Plus, you can easily buy stolen info for dirt cheap. The info working, that's another story.
