Of course, every blackmail attempt and DDOS attack is being reported to the relevant law enforcement agencies, too, though realistically the chance to catch somebody is quite slim. Having said that, sometimes it does happen, and if it does, we will pursue every case to the fullest extend possible, no matter where the offender is based - above activities are a crime in every jurisdiction in the world and it's always possible to find a local law firm to represent you.
    @Korn

A modest suggestion for SBI. Post a 10k USD/Euro bounty for verifiable information resulting in the apprehension and conviction of the guys extorting you. Offer to pay the bounty in bitcoin to ensure anonymity and watch how fast these guys sell each other out...

If any Gold Seller(s) are reading this they've probably got a lump in their throat, increased heart rate and feeling incredibly numb. They probably would have gotten away with it a while longer but once you poke the bear with a stick in the form of DDoS attacks, expect the bear to fight back.

Shutting down their payment source is a smart way to handle it, along with the other channels that were previously mentioned. Yeah it sucks I can't play and thank god I wasn't engaged in combat during the sudden dc. But don't give in and you have a resilient community.

The only part that might get a little awkward is if two-three months in this continues to occur. I paid for a 1-yr subscription and it's not very fun seeing 2 months of that eaten up.
  • If this continues for another few days the game is going to die very quickly. It is becoming unbearable even for the most hardcore of players. I am in one of the best most elite guilds on the server and we have 300 members in our main guild. I watch everyday as our numbers decline. We would have 110 online or so prior to this alleged DDOS stuff, and now when the servers come up we get somewhere around 30 to 40 people max. It is quite concerning.
  • Goldseller is undoubtedly a big problem, but it is almost impossible to win them. They are like cockroaches, it is an endless war that will not arrive at all, many other gaming companies and much larger than you have tried to fight this war and lost. I think the biggest problem for the economy of a game is the dumping of material made by BOT. This is an easier war to fight and the robots are responsible for a good part of that gold or silver process that revolves around the game. These strange underworld companies that sell money, use bots, the community, use bots, it's a culture of mmo, there are people who only play the game if they can use the bot, I've seen people like that. I think gold sellers who steal paypal acc or hack someone are extremely damaging to the company and the user, but the son of a bitch who uses the bot is no less damaging. The BOT user is bad for the company and the community.

Perhaps a declared war against the bot user is the best way to battle this war.

Thinking that a good part of the players who use the bot, also resell their silver to the company that sells to other users and the users who buy the silver, buy items from people who used bot to farm them vicious cycle and we fall into an economic bubble that There is no end.

    CHOOSE 1:

1- THE SITE INSTALLS BOT AND BOT FARM THE ITEM
    2- THE PLAYER BUYS SILVER,
    3- SILVER PURCHASES THE ITEM,
4- THE SILVER COMES BACK TO THE SITE,
    5- THE PLAYER BUYS SILVER,
6- THE SILVER PURCHASES THE ITEM,
7- THE SILVER COMES BACK TO THE SITE.

    CHOOSE 2:

PLAYER INSTALL BOT AND BOT FARM ITEM
THE PLAYER SELLS ITEM FARMED BY THE BOT
THE PLAYER SELLS THE SILVER FOR THE SITE
    SITE SELLS SILVER FOR PLAYER
PLAYER USA SILVER TO BUY ITEM
AND THE SILVER RETURNS TO THE SITE OR TO THE PLAYER WHO USED THE BOT TO FARM AND WILL RETURN TO THE SITE
AND OTHER WILL BUY FROM THE SITE
    TO BUY ITEM

And we enter into an endless economic bubble and the stock of the site is always renewed but it is renewed by the RMT practitioners themselves. Because they get buying and re-buying and re-buying and re-buying in an endless cycle, they buy several times the same coin. By simply analyzing it, it is a cycle that never ends, so the bot is much more harmful. I understand that you also have the concern for you also to sell the currency and the site ends up becoming a strong competitor for the people who have been practicing the RMT ... but fighting the bots is the best solution, declaring war, banning everything. The bot is almost always the enemy. He is the generator of the problem, so if you only fight who sells, it's like fighting a big, fat hydra. You're going to cut off a head and there'll be another 5 right after that. The blizzard made a new model of the ban on overwatch now that it bans the bots by the person's processor serial. Bane the computer's processor and solve the problem. Controlling bots is a semi-impossible job, but trying to mitigate the problem might not be the bad idea.

I do not know very well how the terms work for this in English, it's not my main language but I work hard at it hahahaha :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

Who are you? Every single one of your posts is a dig on the devs and how they're ruining the game. If you have that much of a problem with the game, then try something else.
  • 1) Create a "spam-filter" for whispers/chat. Any spam, including guild / selling stuff. And stop the spamming.
    2) Temporarily create a whitelist for safe addresses (hash or something) and rest need to go through the usual email stuff to get whitelisted / additional captcha. So that bots have more difficult time to operate while you get a long term plan.
    3) Get some temporary DDOS damage control going quick, until you get a real plan.
    4) Give us some nice free stuff!!! :P People like free stuff. Give us a Personal Island Bot or a can of spam... :D

Just do something. Close the servers for couple of days.

Strange that no group of "hackers" or whatever claimed the action like the usually do when they damage big companies. I would say stop lying to us and just move and invest to give a better product solving your big mistakes that are under the eyes of everybody with a brain. Peace.
This is compiled by monitoring NOC's (Network Operation Centers)
    Not to be offensive but it's pretty clear that you don't know how these things work from the basics to the more intricate parts. First, Let me introduce you to the internet;
Your connection from your home goes to a splitter, which goes through one or two regional nodes, which connects to regional facility where data is routed (Network Operations Center or NOC), the DNS (Domain Name Server) holds a large registry of URL (www.____.com) associations to their IP's (numbered address locations), and then it routes to it's final destination in what should be a minimum of 10 successful jumps. I wanted to clarify that before you came up with a stupid statement about the map. Now, While the map doesn't show the destination for attacks you WILL notice if you look that nearly all attack time stamps are in direct correlation with Albion's claimed attacks and the recent spike on attacks towards the US began when the attacks started on Albion.
Past this, you're comment is referring to vigilante groups. You may not know that but it is. Only the ones looking for attention, popularity, etc make those claims. Being the blade for a gold seller only makes you look like a dick, even in most hacker communities. It takes no skill and it's not something to wave proudly on a flag. It's utilizing a paid for bot net. The individual gold seller probably wont directly claim responsibility either as it makes them legally vulnerable. It's better to simply say I am "a gold seller" than give a direct name... I doubt you know what a bot net is and I don't want to talk again past this so I'm going to be as stupidly descriptive as possible.
A bot net is a series of infected computers numbering into the thousands. Small malicious programs will operate in the background of the system resources as to not alert the user. These are obtained by porn sites, spam, attached to otherwise legitimate installs, and so on. A bot net has many uses including paying the code writer for DDOS attacks, but the price has to be right as there are other things those zombie systems can do to passively generate income.
If a company begins to properly mitigate an attack the best course of action for an attacker is to start attacking the closest nodes around the companies location. This is why some users will lose connection while others will be just fine. At this point they are only attacking certain routes in. The ISP (internet Service Provider) will mitigate and absorb on one route then the attacker rotates to another (or another group of) nodes.
I think that I've provided ample evidence and explanation. Now... They HAVE had server issues due to a larger population on launch than they expected, but they're being slammed with something that even massive corporations struggle to endure. I can't blame you for being ignorant as none of this has probably ever been taught to you. On the other hand, if you can't manage to STFU past this then yes-- You'd be making yourself out to be an idiot and you should probably just "hard reset" your computer using a hammer.

  • Hit them where it hurts most!
    In they're sacks!
    Gold Sacks!

I really hope you get paypal to ban these accounts and freeze them.
They will make new ones ... which get frozen again.
And i surely hope that it will net them a loss, then stopping to mess with alibion... b

    but one can only dream.

    Gold sellers will be around.
As long as idiots are around buying 1mio silver for 4 dollars.
Keep banning the idiots, someday you got them all. Then goldseller can't sell they're stuff ... even for 1 penny.
  • people who got their creditcard stolen or paypal stolen by gold sellers usually purchased themselves gold on those website so this is their fcking problem.
Pay the fcking ransom and let us play more bots = more free kills = more accessible stuff on ah = more fights = more fun anyway. no one care about gold sellers in this game cause if you buy for 10000000000000000000000m gear you can always get ganked and die and you would just lose all ur IRL money and your stuff in the same time.
    Just let people play.
