DDOS & Blackmailing (UTC 16:00 DDOS attack)

Hello everyone,

during the last days we suffered several DDOS attacks. During a DDOS attacks you may experience disconnects or long loading times up to that the game is not available at all. In general always be careful if a DDOS attack happening to play in the PVP areas! We will always update this thread about the current status:

Is currently a DDOS happening? - YES!

Some information regarding our situation:

We are currently setting up counter measures to prevent/reduce it in the future
We have no ETA yet when they might be in place, so long we have to live with the situation.
What is a DDOS in general: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack
We highly recommend you to be careful when playing in PVP zones during such an attack.
IMPORTANT: There is the possibility that we might be down for 24 hours! -> All guilds make sure you feed your territores properly!

I'm the first one to complain when shit happens or go wrong on this game, but I really hope everything end well in this stupid story. If not, well, we won't blame your for being DDOSed.

Of all the things they could be doing... They decide to waste their time to DDOS and ransom you guys.

It's almost as if there aren't any other games where gold farming isn't a lucrative business.

If the Loginserver would have such things as Autoscaling, this would hurt so much....But since the Game Scales pretty Static...this is a problem =)

Whoever is doing the DDOS, it's not worth it staying in money guild if Derrick is demanding you to pay him silver. Come Join arch where you can still win but not sell your soul.

Except the servers were all in all A-OK last Weekend. The mass instability started occurring the moment SI disabled the ability to directly trade gold to players and Guilds. While it may just be coincidental. I wouldn't hedge my bets.
