There are 50 hours or so in a legal day = 24 hours in a solar day at GMT (+0) + 12 timeszones to the west (-hours from GMT) + 14 timezones to the east (+hours from GMT. Note that Daylight Savings time changes do not impact areas in the extreme timezones, so that it does not impact the total.
So, technically a legal day can span 3 solar days, if it is between 10 PM and midnight at Baker Island (US Pacific GMT-12 ), it will be between 10 AM and noon in London on the next solar day, and between midnight and 2 AM on the solar day after that in the Line Islands (Pacific +14). The reason for this is that some Pacific Islands align themselves with Asian time and other Pacific Islands align themselves with North American time.
maybe its a result of people who do other illegal things, like, for instance, credit card fraud.
This is like an digital version of terrorism.
<sarcasm> We should totally just let people steal credit cards and use them to buy gold and do nothing about it </sarcasm>
