Quality in crafting, repair limit and lifetime limit in mounts

  • Quality in crafting, repair limit and lifetime limit in mounts

This is my suggestion on crafting aiming for 3 things

1.Geting rid of excess gear and mounts in game.

    2. Giving crafters something special to aim for.

    3. Revamping the quality system on crafted items.

    LIMIT ON NUMBER OF REPAIRS:

Make it so that each item can only be repaired 10 or 20 times: When the item is close to the repair limit, give the player a warning that the item will be trashed if it is repaired 2 or 3 more times.

The player can make the decision to salvage the item and receive at least something in return or sell the item cheap if it has 4 or 5 repairs on it. This will eliminate gear from the green and yellow zones that keeps acumulating. Everyone just runs around in their hellgate artifacts or dueling in town with no risk of losing these items.

Just put the number of repairs an item has, on the items stat info.

    LIFE LIMIT ON MOUNTS:

Give mounts a limit of existence. Give a mount 30 days or 60 days of being usefull. After that time the mount dies or just dissappears from your inventory. You can put the info of the days remaining on the mount in the items info tab. This way a player can know if he is buying a mount with full life or low life..

This way a used gear or mount would sell for less, and a new crafted item would sell for more.

    LUCK ON CRAFTING:

The crafter that have more experience or mastery making certain items will craft items with higher durability or a higher lifespan on the crafted mount.

This will differenciate a great crafter from an average crafter.

Give the crafting system a luck roll on each item crafted. This way a crafter can get lucky and make a great item with higher durability than a normal item.

The higher the crafting mastery the higher the luck on crafting.

Anyone can get lucky and make 1 masterpice item, but the specialized crafter will have a higher luck roll depending on his mastery level on a specific item.

    QUALITY ON CRAFTED ITEMS REVAMPED:

An item or mount crafted can have 5 quality results and 3 different bonust stats.

MASTERPIECE ITEM: WARBOW has 300 durability and a 30 limit on repairs. + 100 DAMAGE or +100 attack speed or +1 more second stun duration on E ability

PERFECT ITEM: WARBOW has 200 durability and a 20 limit on repairs.+ 50 DAMAGE or +50 attack speed or +.50 second on stun duration on E ability

OUTSTANDING ITEM: WARBOW has150 durability and 15 limit on repairs. + 30 DAMAGE or +30 attack speed or + .30 second stun duration on E ability

GOOD ITEM: WARBOW has 120 durability and 12 limit on repairs. + 15 DAMAGE or + 15 attack speed or + .15 second stun duration on E ability.

NORMAL ITEM: WARBOW has 100 durability and 10 limit on repairs. NO BONUS STAT

    NOTE:
Items can only get 1 out of 3 bonus stats available to the item.

The higher the quality of the mount the higher the lifespan on it. Bonus stats on mounts can be +Speed, +CC Reduction or +Higher Cargo Limit

Armors bonus stats: + Hitpoint, + CC Reduction or CC Duration on skills.

Bags bonus stats: + HIgher cargo limit, +Cooldown Reduction, or + CC Reduction.

Capes bonus stats: + Speed, + CC Reduction or + Reduction on skills available while dismounting.

These items can be overpowered but they will be in the game for a limited time. It depends on the quality of the item.

GLOBAL ANNOUNCEMENT AND MASTERPIECE LEADERBOARD FOR EACH ITEM:

Make it so that we get a global announcement that a crafter made a masterpiece quality item. Stating his name and city where it was made.

Make a leaderboard for crafters, where players can see the times a crafter made a Masterpiece quality item for each item.

This way every player in the game can contact the crafter and pay the crafter in mats or silver to make his items.

    Result:
We give crafters a pvp competition they can enjoy.

Crafting will be engaging and special. Not like the standard version we have now.

We give the quality in items feel special and unique.

Every item a crafter makes has a chanse to get 5 levels in quality and 3 different bonus stats. Making it more fune and something to work for.

Some crafters will salvage the normal quality items for a chanse to make a higher quality item.

We get rid of the excess in items and mounts in the game.

    A better economy.

couldnt agree less there is already a high rate of trashing items when you die.
about green and yellow zone players and town duelers, they dont really matter just a bunch of care bears
  • There already was similar suggestion, about items decaying.
Overall, currently there is 2 (2.5) gear sinks:
    1. Crafting study.
    2. Dead trashing.
    (2.5). Disassembling for resources.

Crafting study is limited by progressing craters need, and not constant.
Dead thrashing is limited by PvP actions, best gear, high tiers.
Disassembling is limited by overflow, when some players want to get rid of gear at any price, and other players find it profitable to buy, break and sell resources. (usually T3,T4.1 in green).

One more sink feel's needed, when rest are stop working,
It was suggested to have limited (or impossible) repairs, or slow item power reduction over time item is used.
BUT one more sink is needed only where other 2.5 are not working.

I've also have suggested to be able to combine few lower quality items with tiny silver amount for one of better quality as a replacement of upgrade lottery, that no one find useful. By anyone, not only crafters. Everyone like the best shiny gear, and it can be also good sink for overflow of cheap similar items. That sink will work only where others are not.

  • Another good way to limit an items durability is to reduce its max durability each repair. Make it so people that take care of their items will have an item that lasts long.

For example if you repair your item before 75/100 it will not lose durability. Below that it has a chance to lose between 1 and 10 depending on how low the durability was.

Also to get rid of the outcry of people screaming about losing their awesome item eventually, make it so players can repair the max durability with a skill.

So if your bow is now down to 20/20, mats can be harvested and can only be ultimately repaired by a person that has mastered that tier of item making (example tier 5 warbow crafters can repair tier 5 warbows and below).

This will open the economy for players able to repair items and make even MORE usefulness for crafting.

not a fan of limited repairs but this sounds like a good idea, but I tend to lose gear often so I dont think this would effect many players.
