Island Move Period - Farming Bonuses

    • Island Move Period - Farming Bonuses

      New

      Hey fellow Adventurers,

You may have already noticed that another Island Move Period has started. But there are a couple of things to be aware of:
      1. The Island Move Period lasts until October 16th
      2. You can only move your island once
      3. The Island must have been created before maintenance on September 16th to be movable
      4. Islands cannot be moved from or to Brecilien
      5. Only personal Islands can be moved
      6. An island move cannot be reversed
There are some exciting changes to Farming and Islands coming with the upcoming update, and of course we want you to be able to make an informed decision about where to move your island to before these changes go live.
For this reason, we’re giving you a little sneak peek of some of these changes.

With the Wild Blood update, crops, herbs, and farm animals will thrive differently in different biomes. Each city will have Local Farming Bonuses for one crop, one herb, one farm animal (not mount animals), and one additional farmable having increased yields (+10%). The bonus for animals refers to the yield of their produce (Eggs & Milk). These bonuses will function and be displayed similarly to the Local Production Bonuses that apply to crafting.

In addition, Cities & Islands will get a Local Production Bonus for butchering the animals that have a Farming Bonus there (+10% yield).
Because Caerleon has Local Production Bonuses for food, it will receive bonuses for three different Herbs instead, to encourage players to take the risk of transporting ingredients though Red Zones.
Because Brecilien has Local Production Bonuses for potions and its hard to consistently trade with it, it will receive bonuses for all crops (though you cannot move your island there).

To further increase trade incentives, every farm animal (not mount animals) now has a favorite food, which provides double nutrition when feeding the animal (Quick Feeding has been adjusted to prioritize favorite food). But because they are picky eaters, this food always grows better in a different city to the animal.
This is only intended as a trade incentive, and not to be an actual increase to the nutrition in the game. For this reason the nutrition which farm animals (not mount animals) need to grow has also been doubled.

This will be our last Island Move Period, since the new changes to islands will make such moves obsolete in the future. If that leaves you guessing, stay tuned for our upcoming Dev Talk about the Island and Farming rework for more details.

Completely confused and unclear for what. Prices for consumables (food and potions) will rise, is it for the outflow of silver from the game or for gunkers who will catch transporters and farmers with products in red zones? And the fields in the black lands, what about them?

      It seems a little strange?

3.The Island must have been created before maintenance on September 16th to be movable

Today is September 16th.Should there have been an announcement earlier?
Maybe new players buy the island in the wrong city today. According to this they cannot move island......

1.The Island Move Period lasts until October 16th

According to this "big update" come October 16th,or maybe i'm wrong.....

      I pull up plants
-> walk to the next city
      I raise animals
-> walk to the next city
      I process it into Buufood
-> run to all cities to sell it

      puh a lot of work...

if they just bought island then they have nothing in it, thus its easy to move the island.
dont forget you always could move islands, the diference was you had to remove everything from inside of it first.

Did those food bonus apply to rare animals too? hope for a no.

Don't think it will make thinks really better. Just more boring transporting. Only some people will work on Caerleon as it is now. The other wil just have some more boring traveling. Probably the only real change will be on mammuth price.

If a character can now have an island set up in every city, this is probably not a big deal. It's more about playing the efficiency game and creating more ganking opportunities transporting all of these surplus ingredients and finished products to and from Caerleon.

We just need ALL of the details from the upcoming Dev Talk before we make a decision to move anything.
