As best I can tell, the TOS disallowing self-referrals without enforcement simply serves as penalty on players who are honest and follow the rules.
Would be very interested to hear from SBI if they have a different perspective.
Personally, I sympathize with the concept that it's difficult to enforce and I think it should just be removed from the TOS.
Many players will abide by the ToS in full. They are disadvantaged from doing so as SBI condone self referral and other players take advantage of abusing the ToS.
My assumption would be that SBI know that they make a shit ton from self referral, way more than genuine referral, and so just turn a blind eye and refuse to even comment.
So just remove it from the ToS and let us all do it.... the wall of silence on the subject is embarrassing.
Like RMT, what if in some cases it is SBI that sells silver outside the official way and then simply bans some customers? (the silver stays in the banned account so it does not continue to flow in the game between players but practically returns to the system, SBI has dollars, double win for them...)
Something like a "silver sink with a bonus dollar gain".
