New/Solo player experience

    • New/Solo player experience

      Hi,
I've always been interested in Albion but stayed away because I dont have the time or patience to join large guilds and what not which seemed to be most of the endgame content in the game. However, a few articles suggest that may no longer be the case.

As a solo player mostly, what kind of content is available?
Would I be able to latch onto a zerg running around in PVP zones, similar to GW2 WvW where you don't even need to know the groups or players your running around with.
Is there matchmaking for small scale dungeon content?
Are there endgame farm zones without pvp?

Basically, I don't want to be beholden to joining a guild if I don't want to but would still participate in open world large scale skirmishes.

      Thanks!

Sure, faction warfare in blue/yellow zones (non-lethal).

Only instanced content (crystal arena, HG, etc) have matchmaking.

Endgame content = black zones (lethal full loot areas). Some people play exclusively in blue/yellow (non-lethal) zones.

    • I've been playing solo a lot lately, and there's plenty of options.

The recently introduced Mists regions are open world zones with fame farming and gathering possibilities, PvP objectives and these zones are made especially for solo players as it's impossible to enter them in a group. (Well, there's also the duo mists in case you want to go with a friend, but that's the biggest 'group' you can bring.)

Faction warfare allows you to play with a zerg of random people who have flagged for the same faction to fight against other factions. You can get a feeling for how ZvZ works this way in nonlethal zones, but there's also a regular 'Bandit event' where you can group up with random players to play ZvZ in the lethal red zones of the royal continent.

Grouping with random other players to play arena is an option.

The design of Albion is that the lower tier zones are no Pvp, mid tier zones allow safe PvP, and higher tier zones are full loot lethal PvP.

If you don't want PvP your endgame farm zone will be lower tier than if you are willing to take risks.
