I got banned for 30 min for refusing to play Crystal Arena with a healer in a Tier 4 flat staff. Seems kinda unfair. Shouldn't the guy coming in with a shit staff get the 30 min ban? I was not the one who trolled, I just refused to let myself be trolled. There really should be some kind of minimum before joining Crystal Arena. Maybe hit the 100 Arena wins stat first (Regular Arena). And minimum on the gear too.

You got banned because of inactivity. I don't think the system cares about your reason.
Adding some secondary requirements to join crystal arena would increase wait times even more. It wouldn't help filter out trolls. There is already a minimum IP requirement.
Just take the defeat. You have won many matches because the enemy had a troll. -

I had 2 pork pie enjoyers and both were in 4 flat gear and still won. Because gear doesn't mean anything when enemies are playing just as bad.
If your Afking in Arena it should be 30 min first then 2h for second time and 1d for 3rd time increasing every time.
I lost most of my games because of someone started to afk. -
Gear matters to a degree. When you queue in and your team is 4 guys with 5.1 or 6.1 and you look on the other side and see 8.3 for everyone, you know you're 95% going to lose. Yes there is a soft cap on the gear, but the people who have 8.3 are typically way more experienced and coordinated. Thankfully for me, I was only out for the achievement, which is hitting Silver Rank. I got it yesterday so will retire from the content, or at least stop till next season.
But yeah, you can often tell in advance who is going to win. When the teams are even it is up in the air though, and usually a nice fight. -

Hard IP caps were suggested eons before the crystal arena existed, devs don't care though.- You're a monster.

100 IP difference results in a roughly 16% TTK (time to kill) advantage for the higher-IP player, so it's not only an experience advantage. From playing 2v2 and 5v5 I can roughly say that the highest IP difference which can be overcome by coordination and skill is 200, anything above and you get squashed by pure numbers.
