Dev Talk: 2022 Roadmap

Agreed. If think a decent middle ground would be if they're character bound drops off resource mobs. Seeing these flood the market probably wouldn't be the best for the game, but at the same time it could be a good help to level up your preferred gathering line.
    • Very bad announcement. Not so bad as previous update with elite levels, but still bad. I like this game but I see as you are trying to kill this game.

Do you know what sandbox game is? As far as I know, sandbox is when player can choose what to do. But you make more and more events that force player to do what he must to do in order to get good reward. This is no longer sandbox game. Of course, you dont must to make exactly sandbox game. But for not sandbox game, you will need lot of fun quests and lot of other content.

Do you really think your game is better than best AAA games for solo players? I think main thing in your game is cooperative content. But you are trying to make MMORPG for solo players.

Also I dont like ROA but you want to up this. But this is just my opinion of course. I hope you will change your plans (but I understand there is high chance you will not change).

Gathering tomes? Like Fame tomes for weapons\armor?

I hope improved Gathering gear isnt Avalon related, cause hell, thats expensive.

Alos how about adding perks into Gathering? 50 lvl you can get something like +10% gathering speed or smthing.

Wtf is wrong with you? solo players have literally only one content currently, corrupted dungeons, everything in this game is for groups, everything!! and you are mad because they are finally adding something else? 8o

Sorry, you appear to be new to the game. There is a lot of content for Solo players. Solo dungeons, corrupteds, gathering, open world fame farm, ROA, chests, ganking, transporting, crafting, marketeering, ratting and farming just to name some. If you have the gear, you can even do some group content by your lonesome.
Don't go away mad, just go away...

Why exactly? Gathering is the biggest grind in the game. Are you worried about the effects on the economy? It took them 6+ years to nerf the fact some of the Albion billionaires in this game never leave the safety of the royal cities and had hundreds (if not thousands) of labourers in guild islands with "island manager minions" delivering journals for them. I would know, I used to be one of those minions way back when...

Crafting has studying and combat has tomes of insight + satchels + auto respec + ava buffs. Gathering has been constantly nerfed besides increasing the fame by 100% way back in late beta / early release, and more recently the Conquerer challenge buff that you get at the end of a season if you are able to level that up in the black zone. Roads have been butchered (hopefully getting fixed like they said), gathering dungeons were scrapped, T7 nodes were removed from the royal continents (which I didn't mind either). Finally, big nodes were reduced to plentiful resource nodes that have every invisible ganker + bear paws with the occasional zoom hacking attacking those gathering them. I don't mind the new nodes either btw because now I don't even bother wearing gathering gear (since it sucks but getting fixed) and just fight the gankers as much as I can. The also recently nerfed fishing because most of the rare fish nobody uses but deadwater eels and now those are barely catchable because the loot tables have added 12 more rare fish to them in all zones in the open world.

You may co host Albion TV but hopefully the devs DON'T listen to you on this. If you don't want gathering tomes then take out the combat ones as well. I'm sure you would complain if they did that too right? You can literally fart on your keyboard now while in combat and get massive amounts of fame. The same can't be said about gathering and ya I get that it should be harder to level up because of the economy. However currently it's a bit much...Another suggestion would be not to have the tomes but have satchels of (fishing, lumberjacking etc) instead (high spec gatherers could afford the silver cost associated with them easily). Unfortunately gatherers are STILL the red headed step children of Albion...always hunted, always told how much they aren't needed when they are literally the life blood of the economy and *insert neckbeard insults* such as PvE trash etc.

I am sorry are we even playing the same game?

before the existance of ROA let me ask you what is solo content? and was there any viable solo content? when group content was the only thing and you have no friends?

now there is a good balance of solo and group content and even ZvZ size objectives worth fighting for.

and for ROA try walking 8 zones in black zone and just die after making a successful gathering/ PvE trip
gankers were much much more stronger back then too

lets not forget the massive ganking parties which camp BZ spawn after they rework the BZ into the map we know now

Last time I checked an MMO meant massive multiplayer online. I know WoW came along and made soloing in MMOs some weird standard for some of you neckbeards, but not everyone agrees or likes this. I'm all for adding more solo content to make the game accessible which is what they are actually doing. You would have never survived in this game back in 2016/2017...What's your beef with elite levels? It was for veteran players in the update since Lands Awakened was geared in a lot of ways for newer players. Not the devs fault you can't seem to get an economy going...that's on YOU. Stop wasting your time ganking T4 shitters and actually put some work into making money since it's very easy to get in this game. Find a niche that fits your play style and roll with it. Not a very hard concept now is it? Are you anti social? Then seek some help for that and make some friends.

Will mists be easier to solo gank people in, or will they be basically 0 risk?

      Good question!

The only way i can imagine it could work is that by entering those solo roads you lose your ability to party up to avoid dodging aoe damage, to chat in local and with names hidden for everyone and that it dosnt matter if you in the same alliance or even same guild.

So it probably wont be like corrupted because more than 2 people might be on a map but everyone will be on its own.

Ofc thats only speculation from me, but if they allow party up or identify the people you see over names will just lead into teams getting formed that ruin the idea, same for ability to chat.
    • Like mentioned above you absolutely have to disable party invites in the solo roads otherwise this will quickly be abused by people working together as a formed team to own the space which completely defeats the purpose of the content.

Nothing you can do to prevent people not fighting each other but you have to at least not let them party in game to make it a little more difficult via friendly fire etc.

This is particularly relevant for Roads of Avalon players where there's no guarantee of finding a particular resource type.

One thing that would be nice to help specialist gatherers without hurting generalists is allowing gathering gear to buff your damage and defense against aspects of that type. IE: Make soloing mid-tier Tree elementals much easier as a dedicated lumberjack so they don't have to carry around a specific swap set to even have a hope of taking it down.
True, didn't thought about Roads gathering. Fair point.

      MMORPG is not solo game.

I dont like it not because they add solo content. I dont like it because they havent added any party content for about year. And now they announce only new solo content again.

I can repeat my question: do you really think this game is better than best AAA games for solo players? If not, why lot of solo players will come here? I think main thing in MMORPG game is cooperative content

Now about elite levels. This is bad because new players are very weak now vs old players. Old players can often just oneshot new players, even if new player donates and buys best equipment he can use (4,3 for example). Do you think he will continue to play after that or just leave this game? Also they did delete dungeons from statics (IDK why). So now game is worse than before elite levels update. If we believe Steam statistic, after elite levels update, game lost about 50% of online. Im not sure if game will survive another failed update. And as I said I like this game and I want to keep it.
