Headquarters Hideouts

    • Headquarters Hideouts

      Hi!

This Feature Dive will go into detail about Headquarters Hideouts. If you haven’t read over our Feature Dive on Hideout Power Cores and Territory Energy Crystals, then I highly encourage you to read that one first!

Headquarters Hideouts are a new way to protect your Hideouts from attacks! No longer will you be under the thumb of the taxman, you can live free and fight for your independence! First, you have to qualify, though, and with each passing season, you have a chance to qualify immediately after the season ends.

      Headquarters Hideout Qualification

Each season, HQ Qualification Thresholds will be established so that you can qualify to declare a Hideout as your Guild’s Headquarters Hideout. These thresholds are viewable in the Season Overview, in the informational button found next to the qualifications you’ve already earned for the end of the season.

Each Qualification is for each region’s tier and quality, with higher qualifications allowing HQs in tiers and qualities up to the tier and quality you’ve qualified for. You must meet both requirements for any given region.

For example, if you’ve qualified for Tier 7 and Quality 4, you can declare an HQ in a Tier 7 Quality 3 region, but you cannot do so in a Tier 8 Quality 3 region or a Tier 7 Quality 5 region.

While your qualification for the end of the current season can be viewed in the Season Overview, the qualification you’ve already earned for the current season is viewable in the Guild Estates tab of Guild Management.

You must maintain your qualification from season to season, or your Hideout’s Headquarters status will be lost!

      Headquarters Hideout Overview

A Headquarters Hideout is in many ways like a normal Hideout, but with three important changes:

      • Headquarters Hideout can only be accessed by the owning Guild’s members
      • Headquarters Hideout cannot be attacked if they maintain a sufficient amount of Power
      • Headquarters Hideout receive 50% more Power when capturing Hideout Power Cores

Only a single Hideout can be declared as your Guild’s Headquarters at a single time. HQ Declarations have a 14-day cooldown, and if you declare a different Hideout your Headquarters after that the previous HQ’s status will be removed. HQ status loss (for any reason) applies a 35% reduction in the current Power of that Hideout, which offsets the 50% bonus it previously received.

This functionality is restricted to Guild members that have the “Declare Headquarters” right, so make sure you assign this to established members of your Guild!

      Hideout Booster Qualifications

When qualifying for a Hideout HQ, you also qualify for a single Hideout Booster, which also becomes available at the end of the current season. This Hideout Booster can be used once and expires at the end of the next season.

Hideout Boosters give an immediate injection of Power to your Hideout and can be used to fully protect a Hideout HQ from attack. This Power won’t last forever, though, so you’ll have to go get more or your Headquarters will eventually become vulnerable!

Though Hideout Boosters do not naturally scale, they do apply more power to Hideouts in higher quality regions, which somewhat offsets the higher decay rates experienced at the Power Levels required to maintain a Hideout HQ in those regions. As they are only eligible to be used on Hideouts in regions you’ve qualified for, they do become more useful and have the potential for more strength based on your qualifications.

      Using a Hideout Booster

A Hideout Booster can be used in two ways, both of which inject your Hideout with the same amount of Power. Again, this Power scales with the quality of the region your Hideout is in, but it’s important to remember that it will always provide enough Power to temporarily protect a Headquarters Hideout.

      Construction Phase 2

If you qualify for a Headquarters Hideout in your current region, a Hideout Booster can be used on a Hideout while in Construction Phase 2. This requires that you simultaneously declare this Hideout as your Headquarters, which means that you must also meet all requirements and cooldowns for that.

      Any Hideout, including Headquarters Hideout

While Hideouts in Construction Phase 2 require the Hideout to be declared as your Headquarters, Hideout Boosters used on Hideouts that are already constructed do not. This means that you can use the Hideout Booster on any Hideout; including one that is not your Headquarters.

In the case of the Headquarters Hideouts, it will again supply sufficient Power to temporarily protect your Headquarters. When used on a regular Hideout, it will also supply the same amount of power. You can do this to increase your crafting bonuses in one Hideout while maintaining a Headquarters elsewhere, but no matter how much Power you supply to a regular Hideout (through a Hideout Booster or otherwise) your Hideout will not be protected from attack!

      Staging Rewards

I hope you’re as excited to experiment with Headquarters Hideouts as we are!

As an incentive to add to the satisfaction of your own curiosity, any tester who captures a Hideout Power Core at a Headquarters Hideout will be entered into two drawings for gold!

One of these is specifically for capturing a Power Core at an HQ, while the other is because it also gives you eligibility through testing the Hideout Power Cores and Territory Energy Crystals. You can read more about the overall contest here.

We look forward to hearing what everyone thinks in the thread below! Feedback is entirely optional, and you do not need to supply feedback in order to be eligible for a chance to receive the gold.

      Known Issues

      • The Guild Estates tab shows Tier and Quality incorrectly as these numbers are swapped

@Obelis -- Can you confirm if HO will be able to placed and converted to HQ at any time in the day or just in prime time? Seems since HQ are designed to be outside of prime time contestation they should be able to placed at any time.
They're not protected for the first Construction Phase, so nothing changes about the rules until Phase 2. During Phase 2 it can be declared as an HQ if you have a Booster and meet all other requirements (not on cooldown, qualified for that cluster).

      a) the one-time use per season skip both first and second construction phase

We wanted the first phase to have to be defended so that there's a window where it has to be protected (before declaring an HQ, so the boost isn't wasted without any benefit).

      WhiskyGuy wrote:

      b) you remove the restriction to place during prime time.

Allowing placement outside of prime time carries its own problems:

      • The Hideout could be mistakenly placed too close to the prime time and HQ declaration would be blocked (it can't be declared within 2 hours of the prime time as this commitment must be made sufficiently in advance and not in reaction to an impending attack)
      • These players would then potentially have their construction plans ruined because they weren't expecting the block time
      • The Hideout could go from non-existent to fully built in a few hours, because it only needs to line up Phase 3 with the next Prime Time
      • The Phase 1 vulnerability window would be meaningless, as it could happen at any time of the day
    • I understand you think that the first phase defense is a good idea, but for many guilds thinking of placing HQ's I think this actually runs contrary to the overall goal of the HQ system and leaves signficiant balance of power with the the existing empires.

Given it only has a one-time use per season, I'd propose you rethink the buff and allow HQ's to be created instantly if the guild has the buff available.
    • if you place HO-kit and try to defend it but it gets demolished, you have not used your HQ booster, so you can try again in same map or somewhere else, your one-time HQ is still available. there has to be some sort of danger to the thing, it is the blackzone after all. 20 mins sually the enemy cant react quickly enough, but if you got unlucky, just go again

      [...]

Without images or video about how does work hideout booster it is currently hard to understand.

So here are some questions :
      - What form does take the Hideout Booster ? Is that immaterial (just a line of text somewhere in a guild windows like "you have currently one Hidebout Booster" ? or an actual item ? )
If Hideout booster is an item :
      - Where does the Hideout booster become available ? Is that in guild mail box ? (If so, does only the people with both access to Access guild mail and Declare Headquarter can use it, or only the first one is required ?)
      - What are the stats of this item ? (The weight of it ? Do you lose it if you die with it ? Do you drop it if you die with it (letting people being able to loot it ? Can it be buy and sell on the market ?)
      In all case :
      - How to use an Hideout Booster during a Construction Phase 2 ? ( Do I need to be in front of the hideout to do it ? Or only in the same map ? Or I can do it from anywhere in the world ? )

Thanks by advance for your answers

Edit 08/11/21 : with the help of the GM of a guild qualify for an HQ, and test on the test server, I might have some answer to my question, yet to confirm :
      - What form does take the Hideout Booster ? Is that immaterial (just a line of text somewhere in a guild windows like "you have currently one Hidebout Booster" ? or an actual item ? )
=> It seems immaterial, appearing in the second tab of guild estate, it says for me "your guild didn't qualify for an headquarter last season", but for a guild which had the requirement, it say something like "you have 1 booster"
      - How to use an Hideout Booster during a Construction Phase 2 ? ( Do I need to be in front of the hideout to do it ? Or only in the same map ? Or I can do it from anywhere in the world ? )
=> you need to be in front of the hideout

Which lead me to another question :
If I am not in a guild which qualify for an HQ, can I still test it on the test server or not ?

Thanks by advance for your answers

@ScotchL Yes you can! after the first 20 minutes of defenidng you can declare it HQ, of course if you got the requirements for the zone tier and quality.

Yes, but you need to have ''Booster'' from previous season. So if your guild started this season you can use the booster to make HQ in first phase in upcoming season. In this season it won't work in first phase.
