Too much money?

    • Too much money?

This post may look like a troll, but it is a serious point of interest to me.

Even though I'm a pretty moderate solo player doing only farming, gathering, crafting, and T4-5 solo dungeons I accumulate a lot of cash, or certainly more than I really need. Farming currently generates about 100K and growing daily and a gathering trip around a few T5 zones and stopping at a few solo dungeons for fame and loot gives 4-500K on average. This is over a million every 2 days. Ain't gonna do PvP to lose it to PKs or give it away and I can't see it as only a way to keep score so what to do with it.

A full set of T8.3 gear costs about 7 million and I really don't need that as I'm happy in my T7.2 set. I can spend some on net-loss crafting to fill in the destiny board and build up all my island buildings to T8 (about 40 million) but what else?

      ???

    • Right now, you could use it for your monthly Premium.

Also once your gear specs get higher, and you've maxed them out, you can turn on 'Auto-Respec' in the Destiny Board to turn the surplus fame you earn into 'fame credits' in exchange for silver, which you can then use towards speccing up other gear. It's similar to Tomes of Insight in a way.

Sooner or later, you may well become a bit more interested in PvP then you'll wish you had more silver!

      Thanx!

Hadn't considered the monthly fee. I'm currently paid up for the nest 6 months, but that is a good future idea. I've already maxed out my current soldier gear and shield except for a few levels of shield specialty, but might try some other armor and weapon options.

What is the advantage of fame credits? How do I apply them to specific uses, unfamiliar with this although I noticed the little icons on the maxed out levels. I've already reached Elder level in both adventurer and reaver lines and have 100 levels in all my armor, sword, and shield.

LMAO! Unlikely I'll go for PvP, as at my age, 76, reflexes are a bit to slow for that.. I might try more trips into the red zones for gathering though which is the same as throwing the silver away most of the time.

    • you can spend money to level up crafting and refnining, you can spend money on supporting guilds or alliances, you can even pay people to 5v5 in crystal gvgs for you.
And maybe just try to pvp in a random t6 set. Age is no criteria to be able to press your buttons :). You could even pay for bodyguards in the red or even black zones/Roads of avalon.

You can even start investing in getting all the cosmetics in the game, thats a money sink you might regret tho :)

Man, this made me miss the early beta days. Me and a few friends build up a list of contacts that we would merc for to escort them transporting goods or that wanted to gather high risk areas.

Was so much fun escorting with the fights we found along the way (of course travel was a lot more of a time investment back then). Stuff like this doesn't exist so much these days but especially with the population being higher there is no reason why it shouldn't/couldn't.

I did it a few months back with a few friends regularly escorting a guy running items to the black market from the royal cities. He would be on a mammoth and even though its a short trip due the the sheer quantity he was running we had paid runs of anywhere from 1-5 mil (depending on the mount he was on and the value of his cargo).

Trust is a hard thing to lend when doing this stuff, but any decent escort knows that being contacted daily/every few days with millions of silver, its better in the long run to keep the work available, plus then when people recommend you to their friends within crafting circles you end up with more work. There is a lot of opportunity for crafters/gatherers, and reasonably skilled pvp'ers to work together in the sandbox for mutual gain, its so sad to see people let opportunities that take just a little imagination and set up go unfulfilled.
