Season Points / Season ranking Points

    • Season Points / Season ranking Points

      Hi,

A lot of articles seem to use Season Points and Season ranking points interchangeably.
If they are indeed the same thing can someone explain why for my guild the two values are different?

Our season ranking is 358 - with 3995 points
Our season points before sharing - 4919

Someone suggested it is because ranking points are after sharing.
But if they are after sharing surely that would mean we would have more rank points than season points?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

      Cheers

      Eirual
    • For what you say it looks like you guild made a TOTAL, THIS SEASON, of 4919 points

But after sharing it with your alliance (i'll explain how it works later) you just kept a part of those points, and 3995 points is what you currently kept for yourself + your share from the points your allies made.

      Point sharing:

50% of the points you make are yours.
the other 50% is shared equally between the number of allied guilds.

So if you just have one allied guild, 25% for each (you are included in the share)

      You + 4 allies = 10% for each

Example if you have only 1 ally:

A castle that yields 200 points.

You stay with 150 points (100 + 50), your ally stay with 50 points.

If I work through a real example I can't get it to work out.
Maybe I am doing something wrong.

So my guild is part of a 6 guild alliance.
So Step 1 My guild keeps 50%
      Step 2 I divide that 50% by 6 giving 8.34%
Step 3 I get back 8.34% of my own 50% plus 8.34% of each other guild so if I sum the 8.34% column that's what each guild gets back.
Step 4 add that summed value back to the other 50%

      SP = Season points
      SRP = Season ranking points

So as you can see SP and SRP are quite close for some guilds and way out for others using your formula.

    • Obviously this is a constant moving target but here is data from Thursday afternoon.
This time removing Guild Challenge points from the shareable.

Step 1 Subtract GCP from SP giving Shareable
Step 2 Divide shareable by 2 giving 50%
Step 3 I get back 8.34% of my own 50% plus 8.34% of each other guild so if I sum the 8.34% column that's what each guild gets back.
Step 4 Add that summed value back to the other 50%
Step 5 GCP add Step 4 value should give Actual SRP?

SP, GCP and SRP values are available in game

MY's SP value is low because they joined the alliance 9 days into the season and the alliance can only see the points accrued whilst they have been a member of the alliance.
Does the fact they have a 92 point difference in GCP to Actual SRP mean they got 92 shareable points hence the sum of the 8.34% column should really be 92?

    • @PrintsKaspian As you appear to be on forum duty today are you able to shed any light on this complex subject?

My feeling is that retroman's post of 2019 is out of date or other factors have been incorporated into the formula.

Just taking the first of these statements alone doesn't add up in my real world example above.

50% of the points you make are yours.
the other 50% is shared equally between the number of allied guilds.
