New icons should be bigger, and have colour scheme.
If they are small and all same colored, its hard to identify. But if every icon type will have they own colour, it will be good.
I think the UI designer of albion just never played the game, or sleep with justin biber boss.
Or idk how possible that UI designer dont know basic design rules.
I think the artist was going for a more cleaner and unified design. Standalone I think the icons look fine but put in to practice they are too similar, most of the time I used color with a general shape to find stations. Idk, maybe an outline would change the clarity of these icons and an increase in size.
+1 to bringing back the old building icons. They would work in, say, a monochromatic UI like in EVE. They do not work in Albion. At all.
Constructive ideas: Background colour appears to the building tier. That's good. Monochrome (especially grey) icons of different types are bad for quick recognition. Silhouettes are good, but I feel like re-3D-ifying them at a flag angle, instead of the old isometric-ish view and then colourizing would salvage the best of the new building icons and retain ease of use from the old set.
I haven't visited these forums in years, and this is what brought me here to post.
I have a hard time finding a station now with the new icons on map. Please bring back the old ones for maybe only the map or just make better ones. Having everything look the same just makes the map more confusing.
The new Icons are sleek looking, but used on the map they are hard to take in at a glance and figure out what they mean.

Something like this, but with less childlike enthusiasm and more attention to detail, would be a middle ground. Make the icons large relative to the blank space. Similar to a lot of game icons, where the image it stretched to fill the box and is applied in a layer on top of the border, Tier, and quantity layer.
You could also consider reorienting the entire map to form, uh, up and down squares, rather than slanty way squares. Then just use actual icons, designed to look like all the other icons we look at all the time. Because the Ox Calf icons for all tiers could just as easily be saddler icons in town. And they are much cuter saddler icons.

Just want to say the new building icons are abysmal, and whichever dev designed them should be absolutely ashamed of their work.
I liked the old ones because they were very easy to identify due to the color and shape.
It would be nice for each type of building to have its own color.
Hunter Lodge - Green
Warrior Station - Red
Wizard Station - Blue
Potion Station - Purple
based on all the feedback received, we have to decided to roll back to the old icons for now.
This will be deployed to the live server soon.
While the original icons are ugly, at least they allow you to find what you want somewhat easily. Functionality should always come before aesthetics.
