    • Anti Portal-Ganking Measures with Patch 7

      Good day everyone,

With Queen Patch 7 (planned for Wednesday March 11) we will be making changes to Outland Portal Zones.
These changes are intended to make it safer for players to travel to and from the Outlands.

      The "what":

Invisibility Shrines have been added to the immediate area around Outland portals,
as well as at each exit of a zone containing a portal. We have also added connections between these zones and neighboring ones,
so that now each portal zone has four total exits.

These shrines can be used by any player at any time, and give the following buffs / debuffs under the following conditions:
      • Player is invisible for 2 minutes
      • Player is silenced and unable to attack for 2 minutes 30 seconds
      • Using the shrine resets the timer on any protection bubble already in place
      • Leaving the zone immediately cancels the invisibility buff and silence debuff
      • The shrine buff always has a 10-minute cooldown before it can be reactivated, regardless of whether a different invisibility shrine is used
      • These shrines cannot be used by players with the "Outlaw" status
      The "why":

Since the new Outlands have been introduced a lot of ganking has happened in the Outland Portal Zones,
making these zones some of the most dangerous areas in the world of Albion.
We want to enable every player to have a chance to venture into the Outlands without being killed within the first few steps.
The new safety precautions make travelling through the Outland Portal Zones less dangerous.
Yet everyone who decides to gather, PvE or roam the Outland Portal Zones will still be at the mercy of the gankers.

      Player Migration:

As this change involves redesign of the affected zones, players in these zones will be moved to the nearest exit within the zone.
For more details on this migration, please see this post: Please click here

And as always, have a great day.

@Seldom, I already pointed out to you about this situation, but I will mention again, beware that a player who leaves the invisible, is completely vulnerable and unable to react for 30 seconds.

A player with the debuff should automatically lose the penalty if attacked.
    • I am slightly worried still about 2 things
      1 invisible scouts,
2 leaving the BZ you will still be volunerable while you are most worth it to kill

perhaps a zone or 2 away from the portal shrines could go in aswell to help people leave BZ i wouldnt want 100% safety so maybe not invisibility shrines... but perhaps a 10% movespeed buff that similarly disables attacking

What about a system where you can flag yourself as "non-PVP" that way you can travel safely as long as you dont attack anyone you cannot be attacked?

Why would you make black zones more casual and safer to leave? This would effectively make caravans from bz pointless. The bz are supposed to be dangerous and risky not a place where u can zone in-out risk free at will.

Something like "first blood" mechanic would certainly be interesting to have... Some way of figuring who is the aggressor in a situation.

Yes I agree -- this way people would be more willing to play in the blackzone.... so if you dont attack someone you cannot be attacked and are free to do the content you enjoy as long as you dont harm others.
    • Following up on Gluttony's idea, what if we made a copy of the world and called it, i don't know, "Trammel" or something, where every zone was blue and nobody could attack each other unless the person explicitly flagged that they were willing to be attacked. Then we could have the first version of the world be full PvP the way the game's always been, but make all the trees and foliage dead and nasty looking, call it "Felucca" or something.

I think the game would flourish, the population would soar, and the game would totally not die out with this change.
    • to continue the spitballing, what if we added tier 9 armor, we will call it the 'titan' armor, ok? this armor has the ability to open portals from cities, openworld, hideouts, anywhere, to any other zone 7 zones away, but it makes the user super hungry. he has to have a 'meal bag' equipped and X number of cooked meals in his bag to open the portal.

this might sound unbalanced, but following the successful traditions of other mmos, just make tier 9 materials really expensive and rare. the cost of the food and armor will make instant teleport travel balanced and all the gatherers can now be safe :)
    • You guys are thinking too small. What if we made it so you're invincible while travelling on a mount? the only way you can die is if you dismount, making anyone who willingly dismounts clearly ready and willing for pvp. also if a ganker kills you, you should be able to give them ''bad karma' which inflicts a dmg and fame debuff on them. this is a pvp game after all.

yeah, that was my next idea if trammel, titans and pvp flags didnt work. implement boxes that float overhead and have a punctuation mark printed on the visible side. when you hit them with an attack, a shining star pops out. stepping on it makes you invulnerable for a set amount of time. already have way too many status icons under your name so instead, it should also change the games background music to let you know youre invulnerable. thoughts?
