Feedback from a new solo player

Hi , since there was a break from competitive fortnite I was looking for a game to fill this gap and found albion.
As someone who goes hardcore in any game I play spent over 350 hours for now and wanted to share some feedback.

When I started and learned all the mechanics, I was often surprised that you guys found really good solutions for any problem.
Most other game devs are good at understanding their community, but bad at implementing solutions and I feel for you it's the other way around.
Solo playstyle seems to be neglected, the only activities for me to do are solo dungeons and hellgates.
Right now, I'm just doing solo rat hellgates since my friend who introducted me into the game already quit because of the lack of content.
Out of neccessity I joined a guild with a hideout and actually loved living in the outlands. (probably also bc I can avoid portal gankers, which were super annoying when I started and was bad)
I also enjoyed ZvZ more than I thought, but to me it's more a side thing (like setting up and defending our hideout, because it's important to me) and not the reason to play the game.
Since the competitive season in Fortnite continues soon I will most likely take a break from the game, but I would love to come back and see more content for solo players.
If you are interested here are some of my suggestions:

      - Open world POI's: adjust the loot of hourly chests or add more similar stuff that people can see on the world map and chose to fight for (like buff shrines -> reddit.com/r/albiononline/comm…_world_point_of_interest/)

      - Alternative Hellgates: I think the current hellgates are perfect and hope you don't ruin them by making rating impossible for solo players.
If you tried to change the current hg's into a spot where players can't kite then healing comps become even more mandatory and it would limit playstyles.
However I can see how it's annoying for some players, that's why I think I found the perfect solution: Alternative Hellgates with unique themes and layouts (reddit.com/r/albiononline/comm…na/alternative_hellgates/)
Each hellgate would have it's own meta where certain builds shine. Variety leads to replayability.

      - Solo dungeons: I pretty much farmed 55 million fame simply by doing solo dungeons, because I'm a grinder. But once again more variety would have made it a lot more enjoyable. (reddit.com/r/albiononline/comm…e_love_for_solo_dungeons/)

      - Battle Royale: Last but not least, an idea for a battle royale mode. I know the word "battle royale" scares people at first, but if you think about it that's just everything a solo player looks for in this game:
You are always put into a new situation depending on what gear your find off spawn. You only fight other solos. (reddit.com/r/albiononline/comm…ow/battle_royale_concept/)

    • Hello Luuu90, I am also a new player who has mostly been solo. I did join a guild with some nice guys, first one was with a few people who didn't really do much, but the second one has some nice helpful people. I do agree with you on the Solo Dungeons, some more variation in them would be nice. The Open World Point of Interest isn't a really bad idea but it is something that can be more magnets for griefing and camping. I'm a gatherer and crafter myself, so going around solo doing that is something I can say I enjoy. I'm not too terribly far in the game so I'm not having the issue of getting ganked every time I have to go farm for mats.

However the Battle Royale idea is personally a very, very, VERY, terrible idea an MMORPG can try to take on. I read through the reddit you linked and sorry but you are comparing an MMORPG to a PVP Brawler. Battlerite was literally made as an Arena Combat game, so adjusting it to large scale Battle Royale isn't a big change for it. While there is PVP here in Albion it isn't the MAIN focus of the game.

I do think they could do more to help the crafting and gathering sections of the game to make things a bit better for solo players, but there's also something to be said for an MMORPG being geared to being a part of an active guild.
    • They mentioned like 6 months ago they would look into fixing 2s gates ratting. Unfortunately small scale content is just not much of a concern to devs even though it is the driving force to consistent activity in all MMOs. Hopefully they get this straight at some point. Albion is still my personal favorite game available mainly because basically no other full loot options exist but they did not figure out small scale balance well.

there are discussions on the RT on how to try and fix 2v2 HG.

Most latest idea is to add much more HP to the chest (even more then the bosses - so there is no way to cheese it or 1 shot it) and whoever kills the chest - gets loot protection. That ideally should eliminate rats.
    • It is mind-blowing how they avoid the perception they actually already try fix small scale..

Be it channeling break on damage or simply give the chest 19x more life it would show..heh we listen and we act

I mean if they fix the chest now by adding life which is a 2 min fix they just achieve 2 things:
      1) all say finally ..
      2) all think redicoulosly that this needed 2 years

So if you don't fix some things for endless time while solution is so simple you give a statement..

It is similar to bugged nature thorns lacking almost the entire reflect or the broken badon E ..

If u don't fix something in a reasonable time players judge by result not by words..

At start it works you can use promises..but at one point u need deliver and 2 years later is in any case too late for a good perception and that is sad, because the game has for 1 or 2 months still the comfortable situation to have no reasonable competition..and I would be happy if they secure the playerbase by results..
