For Gatherers Only: Opinion about Queen update

    • For Gatherers Only: Opinion about Queen update

I don't know, I feel queen updated nerfed the things for gatherers making less fun.
-There are less portal from royal city to black.
-The portal from royal city are too near each other.
-The nearest maps with portal are T5.
-maps T7 and T8 are too far away.
This forces the gatherers collect away from the portal, forcing enter into a guild.
The ideia that small guilds can make hideout in black fall down cause the strongest alliances control all hideout inside the map with territory. So the strongest alliance keep with monopoly of territories like it already was before.
The maps T7 and T8 are too far from royal city, making hard the logistic, before queen you could tranport alone, now you need a strong guild and others people that escort you to pass thought many maps.
The gatherers are much more dependable from strong alliances than before.

I hope the city of avalon update change to better the things, well let's hope the best.

What is your opinion as Gatherer?
    • There are t7 maps within 3 zones from portals and some with warcamps even, There also are t8 maps within 5 zones from the portal and some portals there are t8 zones even closer, There are also warcamps close to t8 maps also. On the world map if you use the drop down box thingy to the right next to the search bar and change it from "None" to "all" you can see warcamp locations much easier, Also "Rivercopse Crossing" doesn't have an attack line but does have a warcamp and its right next to 2 t8 zones and a t7 plus its really close to the center.

For someone who's playing for 8 days those are some of the issues:
      • There are high tier maps close to the portals, but that close proximity means I as a solo player have a really high chance of getting hunted/zerged by groups/guilds who can't be bothered to go more than a few zones
      • If on the other hand I venture for 5,6,7+ maps away from the portals it will be easier on getting hunted, but in that case if have to invest a lot of time going back and forth, and it still doesn't solve the glaring issue of having to haul my loot back to the portal, which is again almost always constantly a hunting ground for groups/zergs
      • And there are still those tireless hunters looking behind every brush and dungeon if someone is there to be killed

Currently I almost lost my complete drive to bother with gathering at all with the exception being fishing, because I can stay at the edge of the map and only have to move in a limited area for fish respawns.

If you're solo like me the whole system is clearly designed to punish solo players or rather to force them to group/join a guild.

Well you have only been playing for 8 days and it will take time to learn different ways to avoid gankers, Also queen just launched so its currently nuts out in the BZ and it will settle down after a few weeks, Also using mounts with carry weight being solo isn't the best idea because when you get dismounted your overweight and cannot move, But if you use a fast mount without carry weight you have a much higher chance of getting away, Also using a bloodletter and miscaller for gathering is your best option for getting away from gankers, All i can say is don't give up you will get better and learn different tricks to get away, Also don't take the shortest way back to the portal because thats the paths gankers always camp because they know players don't want to go the longer way taking more time running through zones, So if you have the option to go 1 or 2 zones out of the way then you should go the longer way, Also stay off the roads because roads get camped the most.
