    • This sucks and I'm very frustrated. I'm hopeful that someone gets their head out of their ass and finds a long term solution to all the issues lately. I'm not going to give up on this game. I've got over a year invested in it. However, I am looking for another good game to play when AO is sucking eggs. Anyone have a suggestion? I'm a gatherer/crafter type of player.

This is complete BS - we lost a territory to a single GVG'er because we were locked out of the server but Brazilians were not. Your solution - we have an hour retaliation? Then servers are down for somewhere between half a day and full day. What a crock of crap. You would honestly think Albion was the only game to ever encounter DDOS attacks. Instead of bandaids look in to real solutions.
everyone should've been locked out of albion as only private cables were managing to reach albion servers for around three hours.
thing is we brazilians always experienced terrible connection to albion servers, so many of us bought private VPN's and shit these last months, so many of us were able to login.
this is totally unfair just saying. loosing a terri we were ready to defend to some dude that paid VPN and managed to log in and cap the points to win desolate meadow.

I am gonna guess that I am not alone on this, but for the first time since beta, I am actually going into this weekend looking for another game to play and potentially move on to. Up until now, I have been relatively okay with the direction and availability of the game with a healthy dose of dissatisfaction here and there, but the tipping point has finally come.

SBI, you are providing a high-stakes, full-loot player-versus-player game. Server stability and availability are tantamount to both the player's success and your success. It is the *one* thing you have to get right and the *one* thing you are constantly failing at. Saying you are sorry (which I am sure you are) and telling us you are working on a solution (which I am sure you are) is just not going to cut it anymore.
If you expect that something like this is never going to happen, then chances are you're never going to find that perfect video game you're looking for. It might be time for you to consider putting down the keyboard and mouse and just going outside. Can't get DDoSed in RL. SBI has no control over the waste-of-oxygen idiots who think DDoSing is funny. If you want to put blame on someone, go find the person attacking them. I don't understand where so many people are getting this sense of entitlement. If you think you can do a better job keeping the servers safe from hackers and DDoSers, apply for a job. I'm sure they'll gladly accept the help from an expert like you.

Someone's salty. Be careful with that. Don't want to get your cholesterol too high now, do you? I am neither. I am someone who realizes that 1) this is a video game, so while it might be frustrating to lose stuff, it's not SBI's fault and 2) the world isn't going to end because you lost a territory and 3) did I mention that it's not SBI's fault? The world is full of losers who think it's funny to ruin things for others (in this case, DDoSers)… they are the ones who are to blame for your saltiness, not SBI. So instead of jumping down the throats of the developers, who are trying to fix the issue, I am using the time to spend time with my wife and daughter (in between calling out the no-lifers who are so worked up over some downtime, that is).

SBI is supposed to be providing a service a lot of us pay for....SBI is definitely partially responsible for this because it's been happening plenty long that should have found a solution by now.
If you go to a store to buy something and the sales clerk tells you to feck off and offers horrible service why would you keep going back to that store?
This might be a great game but at some point people are not going to play it anymore because of all the server issues.

just a thought here. but maybe they are the ddos culprits here? getting VPNs and then DDOSing during GvG to get the terri.

im not even bothering to read his comments honestly. someone who is so biased to one side of the argument cant possibly make rational judgement. anything he says is predictable and not worth considering. He doesnt realise that this entire thread is just an avenue for people to vent their frustrations and the majority of the people arent actually blaming SBI. although reading his white-knight comments might provide some comic relief.

    • It's blizzard attempting to force all the players back to wow before the classic release. Dirty game industry..
Well good luck guys, Ddos is a hard one to sort. With all the IoT devices with no security out there.

To the other players: I know a lot of you guys out there are pissed off. But this is a really "REALLY" hard problem to sort out. Not even Apple, or Microsoft can completely stop a DDOS. I"m sorry you're loosing things in your game but give these guys a break.

Just think about it. I bet this applies to some of you. Hypothetically I'm a hacker, I find your IP from sniffing your favourite porn site. I connect to your routher using 'admin/admin' as the creds. Because you never bothered to change it. I scan all the connected devices in your house. I find mobile devices, Leapfrog Teddies, security cameras, and an old DVD player connected in the spare room. I check to see if any of these devices have a well known back door. Oops yes, that old dvd player does. Because you never updated the firm ware... Why would you, it's only worth $10 and it's old as shit. But I have now added 1 more device to my DDOS attack. I can now request a connection1000 times per-minute from that dvd player via your internet. I'll not mention phillip's change color lightbulbs, or the transformer toys, action man toy. Fridge that tells you the temp of your beers. etc etc (maybe cars soon)

So as you can see, the problem is just growing with every internet capable device that enters the market. Espically the cheap and nasty ones, because they don't care about security.

Next time you play around with a raspypie computer and buy a cheap knock off sensor, check your network, and see if it's calling home. ;)

So people like us are the problem, buying all these things, Then we are the ones that complain when our favourite game gets DDOS, because it's too popular ...

Lol. I am biased because I'm not throwing a temper tantrum over the servers being attacked? You, sir, have won the award for dumbest comment in the thread... and that's saying a lot, considering it follows someone that thinks his being slim and fit has anything to do with the topic of the thread.
