Hellgate respawn bug ?

    • hellgate respawns are broken, or not working in a sustainable way as an activity in game

      if this is not a bug, it needs to be changed either way.

      looked for gates for 3 hours around caerleon, and in lower outlands found 2 portals.

      this almost instantly kills all momentum my pvp oriented group has and no one wants to even log in

    • My guess:

      They've changed the hellgates so that they don't naturally despawn.

      The re-spawn on hellgates was likely tied to the despawn timer, which likely counted down even after a hellgate was despawned by being completed.

      So, lets say a hellgate despawned in 20 minutes.

      A group goes in, clears it in 10.

      10 minutes later, the hellgate despawn timer trips, activates the respawn timer for 20 minutes.

      20 minutes later, the hellgate respawn trips, and the hellgate respawns.

      Now,
      The hellgate despawn timer doesn't go off (or its set to 999 or something), therefore the respawn timer never triggers. Therefore no hellgate respawns.


      Anyways, that's my basic guess on it.

      It wasn't increased but adjusted to compensate for Outlands expension, from patchnotes:

      Adjusted Hellgate spawn settings to compensate for the Outlands expansion:
      • Spawn waves now produce more Hellgates throughout the world (50 → 80)



      Hellgates, or their gatekeepers spawn in its own unique way - there's a pool of gatekeepers that can spawn each hour, once the pool is depleted no gatekeeper will spawn till it's replenished. Gatekeepers have no fixed time like other mobs, and because of the "max pool per hour" and randomness of spawn location (gatekeepers spawn in any location they're eligible to spawn e.g. 2v2 Greater Hellgates now spawn only in odd-tier red and black zones, and for example gatekeeper can spawn in the same cluster twice in a row, instead of in each cluster till all clusters had it spawned).

      And since the HG silver/loot/fame reward boost in [25. April 2019] Oberon Patch 4 there are tons of players doing hellgates, thus HG became less available/more contested to enter. It's best to post your feedback in Feedback & Suggestions but devs are looking into this issue.
    • Thats very sad... this game is super oriented for group content... here is a lot of players who likes to play duo... and that game has lack of content for 2 people who doesnt want to join ZvZ and etc...
      Hope it will be fixed.. Easy to find pvp.. but mostly this is pvp 15 vs 2 =))) HG was unique place where people can enjoy pvp in fair conditions. Actually was hoping after patch amount of HG will be increased, not decreased.
    • Hey guys, just a quick update - just talked with game design and the changes with patch#5 caused an issue where you would have to wait for hellgate gatekeeper to respawn longer in the same cluster, as with the extended outlands, there are more clusters where the hellgates can spawn. The increased pool size of hellgates that can spawn was increased to compensate for that but it didn't solve the issue with possible wait time, if you do hellgates in your play area.

      We'll consider this issue as a bug and will fix it as soon as possible. Thanks for your reports and feedback!

      If the case if that you can do 1 hellgate 2v2 then you gotta look 30-2 hours walking in all areas cuz most are cleared to hopefully find a new one, thise makes 0 sense should just be that they respawn quicker everywhere so people can do 2v2 cuz its the most fun experience in the game. waiting at a hellgate for it to respawn was the only way to actually be certain you can get in.

      Why fall into this much hassle simply fix the gate time bugger
