    • Reputation and Expeditions (HCEs)

I dont understand the point that a player with reputation und -1000 cant do expedions and HCEs I would think that this are missions from the royal king and he want you to do the missions.. so this would be the perfect thing to do to make the king happy and to show him that your arent a bad person ^^ ;) I think everybody should could do HCEs and Expeditions.. and the expo portals in BZ are also nosense if you cant join them with bad reputation. Also if a person kills players why he loses content like HCEs and Expos? because in there he cant harm anybody than mobs..
    • I am NOT a fan of expeditions or HCE. In any way shape or form.

Still it seems a bit unfair to disallow use based on rep. The outland expeditions should allow for any to use them since it is in the bz out in zones. Especially since they can be used strategically to avoid combat with other players. It's not the playerbase that made the decision to install these...things.

      Just an opinion.
    • I 100% agree, but here is what I really wish would happen:
      • All zones become full loot, PVP-enabled (including Blue zones).
      • Knights now inhabit the Royal continent and defend players against Outlaws.
        • Knights are both roamers, scattered about the map, as well as stationed in various "safe" spots.
        • Knights are very, very strong, but do not 1-shot and can be killed (by highly skilled players).
        • There is a very strong presence of Knights in Blue zones, a good presence in Yellow zones, and a fair presence in Red zones.
        • There are no Knights in Black zones.
      • When you attack, loot, or kill another player on the Royal continent you become an Outlaw (similar to how it exists today) and lose reputation, but now as an Outlaw, Knights in your general area will seek you out and attempt to kill you.
      • The reputation system now plays an important role in non-consensual PVP:
        • If you are Suspicious or higher and are not flagged as an Outlaw, then you can flag and unflag for PVP and will not be attacked by Knights in all zones.
        • If you are Infamous and are not flagged as an Outlaw, then you can flag and unflag for PVP in Blue zones but will be attacked by Knights if flagged for PVP. You can flag and unflag for PVP and will not be attacked by Knights in Yellow or Red zones.
        • If you are Villainous, then you are always flagged for PVP and will be attacked by Knights in Blue zones. You can flag and unflag for PVP and will not be attacked by Knights in Yellow or Red zones.
        • If you are Nefarious, then you are always flagged for PVP and will be attacked by Knights in Blue and Yellow zones. You can flag and unflag for PVP and will not be attacked by Knights in Red zones.
        • If you are Dreaded, then you are always flagged for PVP and will always be attacked by Knights in all zones. You cannot unflag for PVP.
        • You cannot join the Arena or Expeditions if you have a reputation of Villainous or lower. Sorry, Royal sanctioned events are not for such unsavory scofflaws.
        • All reputations can participate in Hellgates, Crystal Realm fights, and GVG matches, of course.
      • The Black zones remain the wild, wild west where all PVP is free from the reputation system.
      • Similarly, participating in Faction content is also free from reputation penalty, even on the Royal continent.
The basic idea here is that full-loot PVP should be part of the game at any level and very early on, but to limit the amount of PVP that goes on in lower leveled areas, a reputation system should serve to deter would-be bandits and force them to commit to that style of play. No more assemble your crew, flag up, gang-bang a few solos out leveling, unflag and then go back to living the good life. If you want to kill people, then there needs to be repercussions.

This would be nice to have, yes.

But its too complicated and too big of a job at the current level of development. It won't happen for another 5 years.

Why should people with negative rep be able to grind their rep back in the safety of an instance?
Because everybody can do it but only the ones with bad rep not.. and they can farm weapons easy and bad rep not that isnt is fair.. then nobody should be able to ff in instance..
Negative rep is meant to be a consequence and to make you think before committing acts that would lower rep. Allowing HCEs just makes the consequence negligible as the rep can be very easily clawed back with zero risk. It would defeat the object. Fine as is.

Why should ppl be able to max out their shit in the safety of instances? Or in the safety of in-town instances?

You have to think though. These instances can be used as a combat tool to manipulate contact in the open world. So you are punishing someone for playing the game by denying them both content and tools that all others have access too.....which just seems like a terrible approach. Its out in the damn zones where "we want" these "outlaws" to stay (they are doing what they are supposed to do). And OW Solo famefarm SUCKS.

Anyone who thinks gankers in 6.0 are risking more than a HCE player in a 'safe' instance is an idiot.
lul even a ganker with t1 would risk more... you simply cant loose you gear and it cant trash
1 death in HCE loses the player about the same as 1 death in T6 in the open world.

In repaircost maybe but you dont lose any item.. and its only because of t8.3 gear so if I would gank in 8.3 gear I would lose more.. so with same gear you lose less thats the point..
But that's not what we're talking about.

We're talking about whether someone running HCE risks less than someone running open world content in T6 gear.

They risk the same. But the reward for running HCE is greater, since people can farm more than 20 minutes without getting ganked.
