My issue with Albion is same as with every other "ultima online" wannabe clone - they focus too much on combat and pvp, and completely forget what made Ultima great: the World and immersion. There is nothing to do, there is no lore, there is no activities other than "get rich or die trying" and "grind fame"

Fishing: -minigame is bad idea. Looking at any game that has tedious minigames for fishing, hacking, lockpicking whatever should have made anyone clear that minigames for actions that are repeated very often is bad idea. -fishing mainly serving as consumables fodder is bad idea. Fishing should be required and valuable part of economy. Either add a crafting resources exclusive to fishing, for some weapons/armor or make fishing part of cities economy i.e. feeding buildings as well NPC Cities bulk …

Its pointless to seek "one thing" to change, since core issues with the game it still is barebones with no flesh. Need improving a LOT in pretty much all aspects, adding a lot of content - maybe year or two even, and then relaunch with new server.
-
In my personal opinion, this game ended up doing something rather extraordinary and we can all learn something from it.

Personal reasons i left: 1) Time investment. Due to job and having other hobbies, i just unable to play many hours a day as i used in past. Meanwhile, Albion, actually requires quite big time investment and big amount of it is "chores". Sure, you can play it casually - if you play with credit card. 2) Lack of solo content. For above reason, i currently not intend to actively part in guild - but outside of guild, there is no reason to play. 3) Lack of long term goals/aims/content. But more import…

Simple - Albion has no lore. If anyone points at book and stuff, ignore them. Albion has no lore whatsoever, no identity, no style. One of the favorite thing in Neocron 2 for me was its factions, 15!!! in total. With own specifics, lore, unquie philosophies and locations, relations with each other etc. Player was in no way limited by factions other than starting point, as could switch them freely - but belonging to faction that fit your intent roleplay and game style (triad drug dealers, police,…

I woudnt call 80 item power a "small" bonus
-
No, OP issue is sensible. You benefit in Item Power from leveling other weapons/armors in same tree. So if he maxed one frost staff, if he wants to have best effect wearing it - he has to level ALL OTHER frost staves too. Essentially forcing people to switch equipments - both weapons and armor when they master it, instead of playing with them gaining the benefit of mastering it... The smart solution would be adding "infinite leveling" for "mastered" trees, where it takes 100-200k of xp to gain a…

With the current roadmap present, i doubt there is much expectation for GROWTH after the saddle point is reached, because it hardly paints a perspective of actual game development in the future and new things that`ll actually attract them. Majority of people that wanted to try albion, did so on release - those who didnt like, quit or will do so. However for GROWTH, more is needed than merely maintaining and polishing the game: but the game has to GROW first before the population does. 6 months f…

Arenas done right.
BeitragToo complex and unconvinient. Make arenas simple, instanced, no loot and accissible from cities with party search. For anything else: give players tools to make the arena they like. Its supposed to be Sandbox game after all? If you want to host Tournaments, sell tickets and offer own rewards - you are able too (or should be). No one forbids player driven content - be it organising duelling league, arena tournaments with prizes, horse races, fashion contests whatever. However it should not be pri…

Time Invested Daily?
Beitrag1-2 hour gathering, 3-4 hours pve fame farming, 15 minute pvp Alternatively 1 hour farm/laborer maintenance, 1-2 hour AH trading/goods transportation, 2 hours hellgates Alternatively 10$ to buy gear on AH, 1 hour and 3 PvP deaths Alternatively 10k silver to buy ger on AH, 1 hour of PKing gatherers in red zones Alternatively.. The game is as grindy and time demanding as you`ll make it. You can spend 24/7 in it, and if you want to "keep up" in combat masteries its least few hours grind per day in …

Guild is not formed and recruited. Guilds are survivors of hundreds of tribulations that went through challenges and disasters together, experienced drama and pressure, being the dominating force and being crushed where people whine and quit. Only then, when of hundreds and thousands players that may have been with you in your path, the ones that left are your true comrades and you know the Guild is now their Destiny - a curse, a mark that cant be removed, a memory of 5-10 years of life spent. A…
