Quote from Rubinatrix: “Quote from joaquino: “its just reducing the time spent grinding repetitive mobs with no fun at all. ” Our real life - like an Albion game - has no sense at all. Some things in our life, such as work and earning money - you can call as "not fun". But spending your money - you can call as "fun". So, your post is simple: "Please, give enormous amount of money to all people on the Earth, let them spend them only and have fun". But it's nonsense. If you have a lot of money fro…

Title says it all. As far as range and projectile speed. It should have a farther range than it currently does but not so long that it along with the projectiles speed can reliably or consistently hit more than half a screen length of distance away (thinking of OW mount gallop balance) and have a projectile speed faster than heron spear or warbow shot but not as fast as Heavy Xbow E. Range and speed balancing aside. Combat balancing would need to be looked at to balance hitting the skill shot ag…

Quote from Jaime: “Why is Dota considered the hardcore version of League of Legends even though in League you've to play for weeks to afford one champion or a completed rune page? Because Dota has more mechanics, it's more difficult to learn and it requires more player skill. Since when grind 'mechanics' made games hardcore? Like I said, I'm an advocate to put back mechanics that made the game more difficult (I've listed those mechanics in a previous post in this thread). Player specializations …

Quote from sirina: “Quote from Jaime: “I bough the game for 100$ bucks in the Beta because that's the game I wanted;” According to this logic, I've spend 1000$ ++ on wow, to watch it become a game, when someone who has 1000 hour played can essentially be worse than someone who has 100 hours played. (in reality you can reach close enough to max level in 3 raiding resets). The level of instant gratification in wow has become unreal. The term welfare epics is strong in wow than ever. ” How does tha…

Quote from Badwolfe: “Have to laugh how the long grind to max character is touted as 'the end game content' in this 'supposed sandbox' MMO Hint: Sandboxes don't have character progression as end game content - after your character is fully levelled is when the real content is supposed to begin in a 'real' sandbox ” Careful, you're going to russle the jimmies of every but my progression is my content reward player types, the sandbox game isn't hardcore apparently if it does't accommodate players …

PostQuote from solventh: “Quote from GunnerNight: “Quote from Nighthunter: “ ” Months later and we are still seeing the effect of what is uliitmately a gear grind moba end game. ” this thing is not a moba. stop mistaking its genre. ” I didn't say it was a moba i said it was a gear grind moba end game. And yes functionally that is what this game is in its current state. The end game content and what ultimately determines the power control of this game is dictated by the outcome of instanced 5v5, 20v2…

Quote from Savvah: “These blue trolls who try to kill parties by invis pulling are in red zone dungeons every single night. Each night there is some new me too douchebag who will try to kill any group with high rep. Usually, they are terrible players, and they can't do much of anything to get you killed. They do tend to make me toxic because I have to make the entire group be hyper vigilant non stop for no purpose whatsoever. It's discouraging enough that we only have really two locations to cho…

PostQuote from Nighthunter: “ 3. The race to t8 Is too fast. I got there in the first month. That's insane that I'm wearing best in slot a few weeks after launch. After I made it that far, my first thought was... Now what? Sure you can grind up another build to t8, but was it really fun the first time? For me it was not. I can't chase anymore, I'm tired. I have some insane memories of ao, but those epic moments have so many mind numbing moments in between that i can't "wait till the next update" any…

Hardcore game character progression + full loot + no IP cap + Million Silver Artifact silence + Grudge Cheese with Red and BZ HG connected + Arenas + Focus fire protection. This was always going to be the end result. Same reason why GvG are mostly no show. Gear grind and 5v5 instanced content just don't mix.

Just to be clear what im trying to spell out in my last post for people who may be confused. Progression gatekeeping is not a hardcore feature its a band-aid crutch to create power gaps in playerbase that can't be achieved by other means. If a game can't create skillgaps based on gameplay mechanics and does so through progression gatekeeping the flaw is in the overall game design. If people complain that progressing a character too quickly leaves a player feeling empty and with nothing left to d…

Quote from RockLobster: “I know PvP "fame" rewards would be exploited, but given how boring and simple PvE is in this game, requiring dozens/hundreds of hours grinding for every 1 single weapon you want to maximize, is absurd. Then you go through it and find out you picked the wrong weapon and either have to do it all again or wait 4 months for an outside chance they'll actually balance your weapon. The creature diversity is pathetic, the open world feels like re-duplicated shell and isn't immer…

Quote from letwolf: “make it, see it exploited 24/7... then nerf fame gains or cap it... ban players who exploit it... How complicated, better dont try make it at all. ” Yes by all means lets all throw our hands up in the air and not try to improve the game. Lets remove grudge too from the game its clearly too broken and no tweak will make it not broken by players who know how to maximize it in a comp, right?

Quote from letwolf: “Make that and people with their friends will fight in blackzones constantly, giving up the fights in controllable manner... eazy Fame Farm ” Cap the amount of gain or tweak the trash mechanics, sure you can P2W your way if you dont cap it buying more gear on market, but the downstream affects on economy would eventually self correct, either via market manipulation or outright increasing demand in the market meaning more people out in the world competing for those resources. …

My 2 cents PVP kill fame idea Some background thoughts on player mentality as I perceive them. At present it seems the core argument is exploitation. Also it seems people think the way to improve the game is to add more dungeons so there are more areas to Fame Farm in the game so the player base is less concentrated in a few zones that locks out most of the playerbase. More and interesting ways to fame PVE is a good way let people get their levels sure, but ultimately begs the question why are p…

Yes trying to police exploitation would be a nightmare, so I would try to limit the most obvious ways of exploitation by limiting the areas where PvP fame can be gained, to me OW in BZ would be the best place to have this mechanic exist. No RC PvP fame could have a negative impact on newer players sure but at the same time it would prevent noobicide as well. The rep system could be a limiting factor in this but it would have to be revisited and tweaked if you permit PvP kill fame in RZ. It shoul…

Quote from Vindrax: “Quote from GunnerNight: “Exploitation prevention. Monitor killboard data and ban outliers. ” I don't see any way for exploitation abuse to realistically be enforced... I mean if I play like an idiot and feed a kill to a friend in another guild is that exploitation? What about a 1v1 black zone best of 7 full loot duel? What about a "thrown" ZVZ fight where one alliance gets wiped? What about an alliance getting wiped repeatedly trying to re-engage in ZvZ with another alliance…

Quote from Karmac: “Why not just save time and leave the system as it is now. Our problem is not the amount of grinding needed but how monotonous it is. ” No the amount of grinding needed is a pain in the ass too. But id be gladly okay with the system as is if it actually allowed for level gain through PvP fame just not at the ridiculous levels of fame that is earned from PvP kills but some sort of standardized table that treated player IP to a mob of the same level and normalized it around gath…
