  • I am starting to think that the huge mega alliances are DESIRED by SBI. They represent an end game of competing for an ever elusive throne and the reliance on strength of numbers means that guilds have an immense incentive to recruit and include newer players (generating content for the players that are most likely to generate profits for the company). It is perfectly rational to look at the game and come to the conclusion that flattening the skill variation by lowering the skill ceiling on PvP …

  • Good Points. I believe we are of the same mind for the N +1 issue. Players like me that enjoy PvP have to accept a massive disadvantage in order to get fights because the large alliances rely on weight of numbers over strategy and tactics. If the game would offer some sort of tradeoff on bringing huge numbers, I think there would be more reason to risk your set against against groups twice your size or more. It isn't uncommon for our groups to provide content to groups that bring as many tanks a…

  • I am on the fence, I think that there is definitely room in the game for the Large Chest style of reward. I think giving 30 minutes notice means that groups are given an appropriate amount of time to contest the treasure chest which justifies substantial rewards. I think small chests should probably have a smaller locked time and it should probably only be visible to people within the zone. I think medium chest should be locked for less time maybe 5 minutes or so. They should have a reasonable r…

  • I think this is a community issue more than a SBI issue. The large gank groups should be attracting more attention from other large groups. One of the hard to balance game mechanics is that groups that build for catching solo and small groups are not likely to be able to fight against groups their size. This specialization means that the gank groups either run inexpensive sets to minimize their risk or they simply run from anyone that is built to fight back. Catch is required to force a fight, b…

  • I think putting your stats out in the open is appropriate when you are presenting your extensive experience playing the game as your credential for weighing in on the state of the game. It is a reasonable for someone to say, I don't think you are credible because your stats show that you are not an expert on the game.

  • I hate the mentality that the high spec players earned this advantage over low spec players. I don't think that un-capped IP is appropriate for non-lethal PvP. I think it incentivizes players that get their max specs to come back and dunk on new players. In lethal areas, players that choose to wear high tier gear are choosing to increase their risk. In non-lethal, the risk they incurred from wearing 8.3 is not commensurate with the additional power they have over a new player or a player wearing…

  • That doesn't seem attractive to me. Scamming people isn't my idea of a fun experience and I prefer to deal with others with integrity. I am often murdering my way across the red zones, but I still have morals! I think this escort service is to be potentially very rewarding from a content perspective (mammoths and winter bears might attract a fair bit of gankers) as well as a silver benefit (loot from gankers and escort fee). I also want to establish connections with players that are powerful in …

  • I have been toying with starting an escort service for the solo and economy players that want to traverse the red zone from the royals to Caerleon.... The protection would be pricey, but you would have skilled PvPers that are capable of repelling or outright killing all possible threats within the red zones. With how choke heavy the new maps are, you would be well protected with a proper fight team ready to dismount and disrupt the gankers attempts to knock you off of your mount. I think the pat…

  • I like to play solo and in small groups. Things can be better for solo players than they currently are, thats for sure. However, it is really hard to balance rewards and risks for both solo players, small groups, guilds, and large alliances and even larger coalitions. I think there was an intentional shift away in mechanics that hinders the solo and small groups from fighting back against a numerically superior force. Escalation and maximum possible damage, for instance, was nerfed to decrease t…

  • Can you please explain what the issue is with gathering now? Is it possible that there are just a lot of people that happen to be gathering in the same zones as you? Is it possible that with the new patch that a lot of people are out gathering and they may play less in the coming weeks allowing you to make more profit per time invested?

  • This is such a silly take. Gatherers and Crafters are unhappy? Where is your evidence of all of these people being unhappy? Maybe a few are complaining but the rest are playing the game. The nerf on laborers was NECESSARY. We are starting to see a rise in price for crafted items and refined resources. I am sure some of the richest crafters and managers of laborer empires are a unhappy about their cash cow getting slaughtered, but I think it will have a huge beneficial impact on the vast majority…

  • Experienced Small Scale Tank looking for Merlyn Rest based guild (18+ And North American) for content between 0 UTC and 5 UTC.

  • It makes total sense, players are drawn in to the thriving economy but never quite get around to asking themselves why Albion has a better economy than the other MMO games they have played. In Albion, gear is more equivalent to a consumable in other games than the gear in other games. You have gatherers and crafters that can focus their gameplay on supplying the masses with not only traditional consumes, but also weapons, armor, accessories, mounts, and tools. When players die in Albion, roughly…

Who gets the premium credit? How is it decided what death is legitimately due to the server instability? What about ISP issues non-related to SBI? What about instances where the reward escaped you like if you are in a CD and the kill opportunity gets disrupted by a disconnect. What about players looking to take advantage of compensation by organizing a gank that they intend on recouping all of the lost loot from SBI? I think this is a Type 1 and Type 2 error. I think SBI allows for players to di…

It might not seem like it, but you benefit greatly from SBI policy of not interfering. Imagine the horror of SBI rolling back kills or even worse (at least economically) producing items to replace your loss. If I gank someone with valuable items and it turns out they only died because of an issue, do I get to keep the ganked loot or does SBI do a do over? Economically, you have benefitted by all of the loot that left the game this way.

  • I think reducing the trash rate a bit in CDs, but keeping the chest loot at a low level can help incentivize players to go in with a fight focus.

  • What's the issue? Nobody is saying that jumping into HCE isn't challenging. What is being said is that once you learn the fights, you print silver in a way that doesn't interact with any other player. Open World PvP constantly evolves with your enemies trying new tactics, better gear, or larger forces. There is no silver printing in PvP, you have to outplay real players. Even the idea of ganking weaker players means that if your ganking spot is well known that you may contend with Police or othe…

  • Is that serious. Are you intentionally ignoring Expected Value and instead just looking at the Jackpot? Playing the lottery CAN be more rewarding than. Investing 20 dollars in bitcoin, but the EV on playing the lottery is negative while the EV on Bitcoin is positive. You, and others, have been throwing up some misleading information or misleading presentation of the information in this thread. 1) Expected profit from ganking. Ganking can be profitable, but it rarely is the huge profits per hour …

  • Exactly! People who love HCE will continue to do HCE. There's no issue or complaints from me about people who actually like the content. What I want is for HCE to be an obviously second rate activity for Silver and Fame compared to open world statics and ava raids. I have spoke with guildmates that spam HCE in order to earn silver and Fame. It was, and still likely is, a safe and reliable way to build a nice silver balance while maxing weapons. I am fine with people that want challenging 5 man d…
